I'm inside an hourglass
hello everyone and thank you! if anyone can interpret this dream I would appreciate it greatly.It starts with a field of pitch white. The only way I can explain it is, it is the opposite of pitch black. Complete and total whiteness. In the distance, very far away, I see a tiny black dot coming quickly closer,from a first person's point of view. As it gets closer, it resolves into an hourglass, very ornately and beautifully crafted, only built differently from the standard hourglass. instead of being crafted with two bulbs, 1 full 1 empty, this hourglass is crafted with one continuous cylinder, completely full with grains of rice. I get the feeling that it is immense in size, perhaps even larger than it is represented in the dream. Also, the closer it gets, I begin to smell and taste blood. I am wary but not afraid. The hourglass is shaking subtly, the grains of rice are undulating to the point that something else rises to the surface. it is me, beaten, bloody, bruised, broken, clothes are torn and disheveled. My eyes are wide open and my expression is fiery. Then I begin to hear sounds of weeping, and wailing, aand moaning, and then I wake up, heart pounding, in a cold sweat. Well, that's it! Any interpretation is welcome, but would prefer Christian interpretations. Thank you all so much for your time.

Thank you all very much for your insights and observations. I've had this dream for a few years now and it's troubled me,(for good reason), but your
words have given me some clarification and I think I'm starting to make sense of it all. Just incase you're still following this thread and are curious to know what I may think, I'll post what I've come up with so far. l think the white field represents a state of righteousness and goodwill that I'm currently in now and have been fighting to hold on to against temptations. I think the rice represents the wealth I could have if I give in to those temptations. But, once I acquire this wealth, I lose the fight against temptation,and against myself, which is why I'm all beaten and bloody, and staring back at myself angrily. The hourglass may represent that onice I've made this choice to do the wrong thing, there may be no time to turn back, and I'll be stuck(or trapped),with the decision I've made. Whew! I've had this dream for some time now, an I think it's been for this moment in my life. Thank you all, I know what to do.

Hey man - I think you've got the dream pretty close but really want you to consider the origin of the dream.
Just so you know I'm coming to you as a Christian from Sydney Australia

So I think there's a message in the dream that if you ever give in to the temptations you're going through at the moment, you'll die (or close enough to emotionally and spiritually), you have blood in your mouth, are angry at yourself, beaten and bruised - This is not the will of God in your life. I really feel like in temptations you're fighting you're doing a really good job! But don't believe that if you ever give into them they'll inflict death, beating you up etc. I feel like this dream has kind-of been a curse to you as it's like there's only a matter of time you have till this all takes place. So overall I feel like in your walk of righteous living, know the peace of God that goes past all understanding - that you are held in grace. The black dot that approaches you, recognise it as evil! The whole hourglass thing I believe to be demonic in nature... it presents the plans of the enemy to you and basically says "if you ever fail, this will be you!". So I really think God would want you to keep on working thorugh this thing of righteous living and know that you are doing really well! Know that your resisting of temptations is so pleasing to him and he's so proud of you. Also though know that the whiteness all around at the beginning and through is the picture of righteous you worked out but know that righteousness only comes from God. You can't make yourself 'good' by not doing bad things. God makes you good and that's the wonder of Jesus
