Rings

Hello,

could someone please help me interpret this dream of my Ex:

I am sitting with my friends in a cafe and my ex is in a cafe alone in front of us.
I look at his left hand he wore a ring on the ring finger. Then I saw his right hand and there was another ring on his ring finger.
This one was bigger, broader and in shining gold. The other one on the left hand was a thinner one, matt and almost in the same tone as the color of his skin tone. I had to look sharply to identify the ring.
In my dream I thought to myself that he is not married and has no relationship.

In reality he really has no relationship.
We were together a long time ago after he broke up from his girlfriend of seven years. He was not ready for a new relationship and thats why it ended.
What could this dream mean? I still bump into him cause we live close by and things are still awkward.
Would appreciate any comment.

Rings can also be just for show, flashy rings of the "look what I got" kind. Could that be it?

Ok, let's see what else can rings mean: there is Lord of the Rings, rings for membership to a secret society, rings for alumni, ...

Rings can show commitment. They can show that one is bound and not free. Rings can be used to communicate something without the need for actual conversation.

You can do something like this too, spend a while just brainstorming anything you can think of about rings. After al it is your dream, so it would be in a language that you would already be familiar with, so one of the meanings of "rings" is the right one.

Also he is not necessarily representing himself in the dream. It could be that he is just there to represent a certain aspect of himself, so you could do similar brainstorming of what does he represent to you now. Often in dreams other dream characters are actually aspects of oneself, parts of one's own personality or issues that one is currently facing.
