      Lamb

I had this dream I was standing in a field and not far from was a man with a hat tipped over his eyes wearing a heavy grey coat there was a big farm house up a head from us and I dont know why but I knew we were both going there. We both seemed to be waiting then I saw that there were sheep around us in the field and little lambs too. There was a sheep and lamb close to the man but the sheep wasnt paying attention to it's lamb which wandered closer to a wire fence where it was very muddy. The lamb then started squealing in fright as it sunk down below the mud it's mother just walked away I looked at the man but he didnt move to help it and soon it was only it's nose poking above the watery mud so i ran to the man shoved my phone into his hand and grabbed his other so I could lean over without falling in and sinking myself. I managed to grab the lamb by the scruff of the neck and tug it out of the mud. Next thing I know the man is gone and Im walking away holding this really frail filthy lamb against my chest covered in mud.

I just tried to find a forum with someone who maybe understood this sorry if Ive posted in the wrong place.

Oh no, this is the perfect place to ask a question like this.

Before I intepret it, let me ask you. Is this dream recurring? Was it surprisingly more vivid than any other regular dream? Did it just seem different from other dreams in some way (e.g. really high emotion, feelings, etc.)? If you answered yes to the first or third question, then it might have meaning. If not, then it may have been just like any other dream.

When I think of lambs, they often remind me of frailty or something to be protected. Being how they are baby sheep, and sheep often represent timidity, it should be something of that spectrum. It was falling into mud because this "thing" is being taken away from you, slowly. I'd imagine the subconscious might have used a faster method of death for the lamb to convey the "thing" being quickly removed from your care. The man and the sheep may represent people around you; friends or family that aren't or won't aid you with this problem. You did, however, manage to get some sort of support by using the man's arm to get the lamb, but soon after, the support you had abandoned you, but you still saved the lamb.

This interpretation may apply in the present tense, as in this is happening right now, or the past tense.

      I hope that helped .

The rest of the dream waiting in the field etc, didnt feel any different but when I saw the lamb sink and squeal I just felt really awake and there, Im usually going about with my phone in my hand so I guess thats why I dreamt I was holding it and gave it to the guy so it wouldnt fall while I was trying to scoop the lamb out. I could feel my heart racing when I had my hand in the mud because I was worried I couldnt get it out before it lost consciousness. It wasnt a recurring dream though the main recurring dream I have is about getting into a car with my friends and driving away to hide from something but Ive not had it in a while the lamb dream is new. That does make sense about the man and the sheep and the lamb I remember was especially frail when I got it back out the mud Im not sure what it could represent.
      Love the llama

I'm glad I could help you make sense of the dream. Like you said, I don't think the phone has any deep meaning. It sounds like that other recurring dream probably has the same meaning behind it.

Since your dream takes place in a farmer’s field among animals, it’s probably dealing mostly with the relationship you have with your own instinctive side which consists of emotions of varying strength, in gut feelings and intuitions, compulsions, desires, and even in spontaneous thoughts and fantasies etc.

Feeling comfortable with this part ourselves can help in making our way through life’s daily challenges because many helpful ideas and feelings etc. can appear from within, making us feel more confident and able to handle various situations.

The farmhouse up ahead might represent a need to “live more often” within this overall world of the instincts in order to learn more about them over time.

Your telephone and the man probably symbolize a certain usual way of approaching things which might tend to be kind of “technical” in a way, mostly related to certain fixed thoughts and opinions etc. about how to deal with certain issues and circumstances etc.

In contrast, the dream presents an emotional situation where the mother sheep ignores the danger in which the lamb finds itself by being in the mud to which you react in a strong, instinctive and emotional way (e.g. you “get rid of your phone” as it were and your heart is beating fast as you take command and rescue the lamb).

Perhaps the indifferent mother sheep in your dream as well as the deep mud could be hinting at the potential danger of a certain attitude which maybe tends towards too much submission and conformity regarding your own feelings and natural inclinations etc. to the wishes and expectations of others.

If so, then a certain timid “go-along” attitude which sheep display might have to be put aside in an assertive way so that you can rescue what your own personal feelings tell you is the right thing to do.

For example, you hold the rescued lamb against your chest (where your heart is) and don’t care about the “fallout” of standing up for yourself as it were (the mud on your clothes) which could occur by sometimes upsetting others a little by following your own goals and wishes etc. more firmly.

Maybe something happened not long ago when you stood up for yourself in some way (saved the lamb) and the dream is kind of trying to show how this was a very strong and good thing to do which you might not have felt at the time.

Or maybe there’s currently a situation where you SHOULD stand up for yourself and the dream is trying to encourage you to somehow do so.

Anyway, without knowing anything much about you, this approach to your dream might not fit your personal circumstances very well, but I hope that these ideas can be helpful in some way.

Please feel free to ask any questions or to make any comments about this particular way of looking at your dream.

Athanor thank you for your interpretation I myself am not great at understanding what they mean so thank you for taking the time to help me out. I like what you said about the lamb. It's not really gone out of my head since I dreamed about it.

      Question DAD Neglecting YOU?

A llama is almost a lamb, and both are in alarm!!

      HARD TO COMMUNICATE WITH DAD?
Is the man your father you don't or can't talk to? I think the phone means you are distant to him.
His eyes are covered, and thoughts are too. He is not seeing you. Colorless, lifeless, emotionless all of him is covered with.
And it explains why you both were going to this isolated house, and you don't know why sounds like it has no point, though you may want to.

      WANTING TO BE CLOSE
You are the sheep that wants a shepherd. And an innoccent lamb, even more.
The sheep and lamb close to the man, but the sheep wasnt paying attention to it's lamb, means its parent, your parent. Hence the mud being the result.
The wire fence may mean no defined boundary between you two as there should, but peril in its place. Or was it barbed-wire? That would mean more hurt.

      FEAR
You freaked out, as you sunk down and your mother walked away too? Maybe you do not get help or support from her, or regarding dad. Or you just can't as you must face your own experience alone. Or this issue is just about dad so she can't help. Or doesn't want to know him or doesn't want to get back with him. Interesting you name only her.
The man didn't move to help.
You see this is about commiunication as you shoved the phone in his hand. And grabbed his other to hold on and lean toward him, wanting to get closer, so you did't go down so much or fall as you grabbed your young self by the back (or past where it began) of the talking area to pull it up out the mud!

      DAD GONE
But your father is gone, so you have to walk away.
Even though it's Christmas. Making you feel frail, filthy, in your neglected heart or you feel unloved by him.

What a sad Christmas Story. But is it true?

      ALTERNATIVE
Otherwise substitute dad and mom with you and you, action and thinking maybe.
It might be about wanting better communication otherwise you might sink. And your boundaries with others may need better defining.
But even after pulling yourself up, you may feel unheard, alone.
