      Chinese water dragon

      Hi,

My name is Donny. I am a 31-year-old Indonesian male of Chinese descent.
Last night I had a quite bizarre dream about a water dragon.

So I was this warrior of some sort. As I tried to enter a temple, I was hindered by a big Chinese water dragon that was swimming in a pool located in a huge room ( a hall ? ) in that temple ( a pool in a temple? weird..).

He talked to me in Chinese, but I forgot what he said, something like " I hate your....something..." I speak a bit of Mandarin Chinese.
I got really frightened by him but shortly after that I mustered up my courage and started jumping across the temple hall, heading towards a door, ignoring what he just said and leaving the dragon behind.

I opened that door and left the hall, then I took a peek inside the hall for one last time and saw this dragon stare at me furiously.

      That's about it.
I would be very grateful if someone helps me interpret.
      Terima kasih.
      Thank you.

A dream such as yours which contains a water dragon or any other animal that talks comes from the very deepest layers of the unconscious mind, usually at important times of transition and change in a dreamer’s life.

The temple in your dream generally symbolizes the “meaning” of your life which can be found only by doing what’s necessary at various important points in your life.

Basically, our unconscious mind is a mixture of dark and light, of good and bad, so while there is a side which tries to help a person to find his or her vocation and meaning in life (the temple), there is another side which consists of doubts and various weaknesses and faults etc. (the water dragon) which can get in the way of achieving one’s overall potential in life.

To succeed, a person has to be a kind of “hero” or warrior like you are in the dream and although afraid, the person must be brave and move ahead strongly in difficult times when hard decisions etc. have to be made.

So maybe you are currently facing some dilemma etc. and the dream is encouraging you to trust your instincts and to move ahead firmly through some kind of difficult circumstances.

Anyway, without knowing anything much about you, this approach to your dream might not fit your personal circumstances very well, but I hope that these ideas can be helpful in some way.

Please feel free to ask any questions or to make any comments about this particular way of looking at your very important dream.

Actually your explanation does fit the circumstances I am in right now..
My business is currently experiencing a downturn, really hope it goes back up again in the near future...
I also just broke up with my girlfriend who I thought was my soulmate a few months ago , she was perfect in any way. I was going to propose her.

I force myself to get up every morning even though I always feel like I don't want to..
And instead of wallowing in my sorrows all the time, I choose to do something useful and read some interesting books everyday, also meditate every night..

So yes.. I might be in some kind of transition to a much better life?

I have 2 more dreams about animals prior to this dragon dream..
Maybe I'll post here some other time.

      Thank you Athanor
