A non lucid dream about my dream journal

So last night I had a dream that my brother was trying to go through my dream journal, but knowing how important it was for lucid dreaming, I took it away from him. I was actually thinking about lucid dreaming in a dream but I wasn't lucid. What does that mean? Am I getting any closer to lucid dreaming? I should probably add that it was a pretty vivd dream.

      Replies would be appreciated. Thanks

I think that our thoughts confuse us at times and try to mingle with clear intentions of lucid dreaming. Your brother might have been a symbol for those people in your waking life that aren't trying to achieve lucidity or aren't genuinely interested in something that takes time and clarity. I think the best thing to do is to find time and meditate on separation of YOUR lucid dreaming intentions and waking life. waking life can get in the way of things we may want to achieve in the night so it becomes a nuisance, brothers can also symbolize just that, a nuisance.

Thank you for replying That sounds interesting and sorta makes sense... I'll give meditation a shot but i've never done it before. Thank you for your word of advice. Wish me luck!

Everyone has a different experience in lucid dreaming. That said, I would say that is an indication of getting closer to lucidity. There is no exact way a lucid dream will happen every time but you can count of an overall increased level of awareness. It builds and builds.
