      Yet another strange dream

This is my second post on this forum. I must say that the responses to my last post were quite insightful.

I recently had another dream that I find kind of odd.

I remember being in someone's bedroom (whose I cannot be sure) with one of my female friends(lets call her X) and her friend(we'll call her Y) who is also female. All seemed normal until Y kind of jumped on top of me, for lack of a better word I will describe it as having sexual intentions. This seemed to make X quite angry with me, as she stormed out of the room. I seemed to know where she was going for some reason or another so I chased after her. I saw her get on a bus (Toronto Ontario's public transportation system) so I got on as well. I remember X saying something along the lines of "Go away" or "Get off the bus". Just as she said this I noticed that the bus was moving and I could not get off. I sat down next to her and gave her a hug that seemed to last for a very long time. I had never felt as close to that person as I did then.

      Then I woke up.

As usual, any help in interpreting this dream will be greatly appreciated.

First, I'll make the point that the person in the dream wasn't the person IRL. I don't believe this tells you anything about her. But it does tell you something about you.

You're getting in touch with a feminine part of you. The conscious you finds this "inner woman" and you feel a deep love. Yes, it's the same love we look for from people in real life but somehow the love for the dream woman is much more intense.

It sounds like your "inner woman" (Jung called this your "anima") gets jealous and angry rather easily but she doesn't really hold it against you. She's waiting for you to tell her that you love her. The closeness you felt can be yours in real life too. But don't rely on others to provide it. It has to come from within. You have to "feel loved" and this dream has shown you how. Integrating the anima is hard work but the effort will help you in your real relationships too (or so says Jung).

      Hi Hot Tuna

Well often a dream is very abstract with strange symbols which seem totallty bizare. Such dreams tend to be more symbolic. Yet your dream seems more emotional. The dream mind perhaps deals with two types of things

      1. It deals with conceptual issues - eg it decides how to judge emotional matters. It decides if you have put the right emphasis on something

      2. The dream mind also deals with emotions full stop. It will detect how you feel. If you are happy or sad. It will detect the strangth of your feelings.

Your dream seems to have one single very strong emoiton in it... you never felt closer to anyone ever.. Try to think about that quote. It is not easy. Think laterally and what comes i#mediately to mind. Some issue from the day before? Some mood that you woke up in? Actually many dreams simply detect strong feelings that you are in right there right then. If you wake up feeling happy thern your dream has detected it and ifg you wake up feelings sad then its simply reflecting NOT CAUSING that mood

      -----------------------------
The father of modern dream interpretation is not Freud or Jung but rather Jon Winson. But he never made a single dream interpretation. Instead he conducted research into the mind and established that certain brainwaves (theta waves) only appear during the night time. During the day we store up all new experiences and feelings in short term memory. Then at night we start to work through what happened the previous day and we integrate these into long term memory blocks. Then finally we clear short term memory blocks ready to start the process again the next day. Its likely that any dreams we have are linked to these brain functions. The weird images and feelings once deciphered capture our own feelings and new insights into the world around us. So the dreams then will often link to specific events from the day before and to new ways in which our world has been reshaped. It may simply link to our paranoias and fantasies. If we are focused on something about to happen in the near future then the dreams may link to that. Each dream captures one specific feeling or thought process.
