A More Symbollic Dream of Angels & Demons

Well, this was last nights dream but I feel that there was a lot of deeper meaning to it. [There's a fragment from the dream before I wish could be interpreted too but, no need to get too greedy.]

      Good or Bad?
Escaping was it? That can not do, for a young lady to be meandering about the plains of the Earth, twas a crime. A crime accounted with omens.

See, though I was running under the hot sun, for no known motive, two very clear beings appeared as if they were my judgment call. A raven winged angel and a dove white demon. Sure, the angel was in black leather, clubbing clothes if you will, and the demon was a pale blond with fashionable bleach-white army pants and muscle sweater-tank top, but neither were to be trusted, that much I was certain.

"We'd like to make you an offer," the demon extended his hand, a peace offering on the surface, a snake bite underneath. Wary, I didn't take it, rather, in the blaring light, I asked, "And the price?"

"One wish for a soul," the angel replied, stepping forward.

A soul... the cost of a wish, my soul, though angels are holy, he was a demonic to me as the demon... What angel requests for a soul? [Plus, I've already dealt being the soul that was toyed with by an angel, and the demon even had pity on me then, another dream though]

"You mean my soul?" I try to reconfirm. "Sure you can have it."

Somehow odd logic allowed me to say yes, my soul would be safe, my body would burn, my soul would still exist, not in a lake of fire, but in a pocket of some man.

"How about your soul soul," the demon teetered. He understood what I meant by soul... They didn't wait for me to answer, the angel whisked me off to another location.

A wish for freedom. It was only he and I. Alone in this savanna. As serene as it sounded, I was far from calm.

      "Why am I here?!?!?"

"You wished it, no?" I was angry. I had no wishes, I had nothing to trade a soul for, I wanted it not.

In my rage, I found a small cactus, I uprooted the plant and threw it at him.

"Too slow, too late." He chuckled, dodging. And I understood. Only a minute after throwing the vegetation, did I feel it hit me squarely on the back of the head.

A sniper in place of the angel, a murder in place of freedom.

The demon woke me. He worried little of my health, asking if treasure would be enough. Dazed, I nodded, and I was upon the back of a purple dragon, flying to a castle in the sky.

A wish for wealth. The castle of the sun dragon, Dong. [No idea where that came from.] We hid and while others were bothering with the angered dragon. I find myself trying to lift a bulky navy and silver treasure box onto my dragon's back. Wondering if I could ever dream of having a dragon ride.

Then, when things turn sour, Sypro flies off to find me, to save me from this wish. As to whether the demon sent him there to save me, I would not know, I awoke too abruptly to gaze in on the end.

It's not the first time I've had dreams of angels and demons and all that jazz, but this is the first time it really hit me as deep. Right now though, I think I'm at a time in my life where everything is just... different. All the wonderful teenage drama and personal confusion of "Well, do I like so & so" or "Is there anyone for me" exists.

But also, there exists the me that wants to take action, yet at the same time balance out all the things I have to do and study for, etc. So yuh, confusion much? I think a vague suppression of desire may be part of the cause of this dream...

There's a lot here and I'm short of time just now. I may be able to pick up on this tomorrow - but wait and see what anyone else suggests.

My first thought is that you're tapping into unconscious values (Freud called this the superego) and the angel and demon represent conflicting values which you have yet to resolve - perhaps independently forming your own set of values rather than those you blindly follow (there will be lots, believe me).

Perhaps think first how you felt with each of these characters and what you expect to get from them.

"We'd like to make you an offer,"

oFTEN A DREAM CAN LINK A GREAT DEAL TO A QUOTE. tHINK LATERALLY ABOUT IT. aLLOW ANY THOUGHTS TO ENTER YOUR HEAD. what could it mean?

      ------------------------
Dreams deal with extremes. If you truly understood the meaning of your dream it may be quite negative. We are our own worst judge. We try to detect signals coming from other people. Do people feel we are not cool or incompetent? The dream mind is often very harsh and honest. It tells us things that we do not like to admit to ourselves. It tells us things that we fear. Its worries about how others are seeing us. It’s a big harsh dose of reality.
Yet the dream mind also heads in the other direction. It captures our fantasies and positive feelings. Sometimes you wake up in a positive mood and feel that you are going to tackle a task in a particular way. You are invigorated and positive. Dreams then help motivate us. But often if we go too far in one direction our dreams tell us to cool down and not get carried away. This makes sense really. The dream mind then explores feelings connected with our judgment. We need to motivate ourselves but we also need to be realistic.

Well, no one's really made me any offers per say. An offer to be assistant manager to a play, I had to turn down, but no offers other than that. At least, that I can think of.

They left me, uncertain at first of what they were doing there, but they stated it. I lacked trust in them the entire time after the shock of people appearing out of nowhere sunk in. [Them as in both, just as equally] I was fearful that they'd snatch my soul. I expected them to not try to take my soul, but had a distinctly mild feeling that they wouldn't leave me even if I wouldn't give it up.

[At first I thought the angel was on my side, but soon after I could tell he was just like the demon.]

I hope that helps in interpreting... thanks...

Well the offer does not have to be real. It maybe an offer that you wish people to make. Dreams link to thoughts and they are pretty abstract. Think of quotes like the godfather film... "I am going to make him an offer he cannot refuse". They are not so much offers in the sense that we normally use that word. Its a much deeper usage. Its about negotiating perhaps... that could link to compromise. See how such themse were important AT THE TIME OF THE DREAM.
      ------------------------
Try to see dreams simply. The dream maybe very long but may follow a simple theme eg I had a problem that I was unable to solve resisted help. Try to reduce a dream to a simple theme like this. Many dreams follow such a pattern eg " I had a dreadful time and everything seemed to go wrong". Then see how these simple themes replicate in your own life. Think back especially to the day before the dream and see how its relevant.

These pages are especially helpful in showing you how to interpret dreams

I'm not getting far with this. Still think they represent values or sets of values and you feel you have to sign up to either or both. But you lose your freedom (your soul). It's like you're thinking "there has to be a third way".

The setting makes them sound very powerful. But they haven't got you yet. It's probably something you're battling with irl, but I don't think they represent anything tangible. Like you're trying to work out what's right (and wrong) but in fact it's not like that. Life just ... is. Vague, but perhaps you could see if this "template" works in your current life context?

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. [Hate to say it, never saw the Godfather] Well, the odd thing is, I was content at the time in my dream. I really saw nothing to gain, and even if I did, to lose my soul... it didn't sound like a worthy compesnation. I just plain out didn't want to make a deal.

It sounds pretty wokrable with my current life's events, I'm pretty much lost ever since about a week ago, lots of things been going on. [Suddenly liking a person, people confessing to people]

i think this dream is telling you to be careful what you give your soul too, could be in terms of realtionship but also spirituality. however it appears, these are confusing times and great wisdom must be excercised. interesting way of recording
