Thread: Marriage confusion?

Since I was 11-12 years old I have had the same reoccurring dream about marriage. In most every one I am walking down the isle, and stop and turn and run out. Sometimes I run half way down the isle, other times I have made it to the alter but the person standing there is a black/empty void. I have no idea who it is, or even an idea of what they might look like by their build or stature. Every time I've had the dreams, I run though.. before the ceremony even starts most times.

I can completely understand that to the point that I have never had the desire to get married. I almost did once, and I did back out of it for other reasons than my dream.

However.. recently it has changed drastically. -- An old friend came back into my life. After a few weeks of talking again he ran into some problems with an ex of his, who happens to be pregnant with his child. None of it bothers me in the least but we found that we'd always had interest in one another since we first met. Within a couple of more weeks he was in a very tough situation and needed a place to live, so I helped him out. First and foremost as a friend, and having been friends for years my first priority with him was to help his situation... our interest and closer growing relationship was second on my mind. -- Since I still live w/ my family, and we also have other friends/room mates living with us there weren't options at the time for him to sleep anywhere but in my bed, which we were very comfortable with considering we wanted the relationship between us. Since then for the past month, I have the same reoccurring dream that I am getting married, but this time I can see clearly that it is the new man in my life and I don't run away. -- There have been a lot of problems and a heap of drama because my ex of 3 years is a room mate of ours.. yet the dream still ends the same, very few differences.. at most, my mom was singing the theme song to Spongebob in one. This new man has recently confessed to me that he feels we need to rebuild our friendship before a relationship, then bumped it up to we're better off friends... Not sure if it's from drama... but the dreams are staying consistent. Any takes on that?
