First real attempt at a Lucid dream

Yo. Okay I had an odd dream last night. From what i can remember, I was at Blockbuster, probably because i had gone there that night,in real life. Anyways, I think I was looking at som movies, when I started to think, " Wouldn't it be cool if KI worked her?" (BTW If you watch a show called John From cinncinatti, you know who I'm talking about.) Then, in my dream, I walked up to the counter, and there she was!! Thing is, before I went to sleep that night, i kept telling my self the at would try to have a lucid dream. I was just thinking about just that before I went to sleep, and I sort of had a lucid dream. A few questions though. Would that dream be considered a lucid dream? Also, has anyone tried that method, where they just think about having a lucid dream before bed, and they have one? If so, did it work? Plz let me know.

Also, a while ago, I had a lucid dream, but realized it too late, and i felt like i was literally being pulled out of my dream. like, when your trying to swim to the bottom of your pool with a inflatable ring on you. it was weird. and, when i woke up, i was like, "what the heck was that?"

      Welcome to the dream world!

I don't think I'd call the dream you had a lucid dream, because to me it's when I know I am dreaming.

At any point in the dream did you realize you were dreaming?

Was the dream really vivid or clearer than normal?

for me, lucid dreams are always more vivid than normal dreams.

And about your lucid dream where you woke up, I have felt that too while exiting a dream. It's a strange feeling. Those feelings though are useful in getting used to the strange feelings dreams can create. some people can't stand the feelings and wake up, but after a while I think you get used to it.

Welcome to DV, that first dream you mentioned wasn't a lucid dream inless you mentioned to yourself that you were in a dream and you knew you were, you did use a bit of dream control, which is influencing the dream with your thoughts to change it to your likeing, about getting pulled out of a lucid dream, yeah you got to work on not getting too excited.

      p.s I like your avatar

cool thnx. Anyways, i am gonna start a dream journal.
A few nights ago, I had a frikkin weird dream. I don't remeber how it started. I do remember, however, that i was inside an old house, and I went to the back porch, and there were two vampires on the roof. I talked to them, and said that I had helped them (i am not sure why I said that) and that They should let me go while they killed everyone else. I think they said ok, then I ran. I had a dog beside me, I think it was a wolf. I then saw the vampires watching me run away, and then i saw a pit with this other vapire in it, and he stabbed a person and litterally opened them up.The wolf and I ran until I found another house, and I ran into this house and outside to the back yard. I realized the dog was gone, and I just started to hop over fences. I zig zagged too. I hopped over one fence, then i would trun right and hop over that fence, trying to get away from the vampires. I thought about throwing off my sweatshirt to throw the vampires off my scent, but decided not to because it was cold. I continued to run until I woke up.
