      Mini's Dreamworld

Let's start just a *regular* dream tracking thread. Maybe this will encourage me to diligently work at building my recall.

September 23, 2009: All I pretty much recall is my dad setting up a TV or something in my room. He was behind the dresser plugging something in and told me to go away and quit bothering him. Later, something popped up on the television saying something along the lines of "IF YOU CAN READ THIS, YOU ARE NOT GETTING OUR SIGNAL" and it had the NBC peacock below this yellow text. The background was a blue gradient and there was smaller writing underneath the NBC peacock that I didn't make out. I remember distinctively thinking that didn't make any sense, but brushed it off. Later, I pressed some button on the set-top box and the channels changed like our old cable box. Earlier in this dream, I remember moving around a bunch of computer peripherals sitting on the dresser underneath the TV. They were mostly things like DVD burners, etc. But one I remember looked similar to the figure below. I do not know what it does or what it was.

September 24, 2009: One dream I purchased a Jeep! I don't exactly remember why but I remember wondering what my parents would think. They endlessly praised me for getting such a good price. I remember some sort of paper saying I paid about $17,000 for it. The interior of the Jeep had loooots of gauges, almost like a jet cockpit.

Attempted WILD, but didn't do a decent WBTB so consequently I was very tired and failed often. But I may have ended up inducing an extremely low-level lucid. I remember getting up out of bed, walking around the room, and counting my fingers over and over again as an RC since I make a note to do an RC after every failed WILD. The first couple times I checked, there were ten, but my left hand eventually developed another finger and I was like "wow, lucid. whatever." and didn't get very far. But it's getting there.

Well finally, I recall another dream.

This morning's dream was one of those dreams that rapidly take a turn for the scarier, until things fade and you wake. All I remember is this guy, can't remember the age. He had this TV remote and was clicking through past memories of his life. My dream was a sort of "show" where the "camera" kept cutting to him clicking the remote and cutting to what he switched to. The guy was going through various points of his life, one I clearly remember was a football game. To clarify, my dream would show his fingers pushing a button on the remote, and then my dream would "cut" to his past memory, in this case playing football.

He clicked through about five good memories when all of a sudden, he stumbled on a bad one. The entire mood and environment of the dream just grew dark and moody. The memory he switched to was apparently one of sexual abuse. The "camera" in my dream cut to him rapidly hitting buttons on the remote trying desperately to change the "memory" while sounding disturbed and saying "Stop! Change!! Change godammit." He is pounding on the TV remote, but the memory doesn't change to another or stop.

At this point, the "movie perspective" ends and I found myself in his place in the memory! I was on a bed, pinned down by some unseen individual. I feel as if I'm about to get raped. At this point, I'm feeling sheer terror...then I wake.

What a fucking shit-ass dream. Could've been interesting without the last part.

OH MY GOD! THAT REALLY SUCKS. It sounds like you were watching the dream of another person, and then your empathy made you feel like you were that person.

If you want to go the interpretation route, I think this dream is more about loss of control, one of my greatest fears with respect to anything in life.

Think about it. The dream centers around a man going through his memories with a TV controller. He gets to this one memory and suddenly the remote doesn't work. Later in the dream, I end up in the place of a guy who's about to get raped. Rape is the ultimate forcible loss of control. In a way, I feel afraid of getting "raped" by life, by having control ripped away from me. Sounds reasonable given my two greatest fears are illness and death, both outside my control.

Upon first waking up, for some reason they moved my college down south near the beach and that's where we started to go. I was worried because I got back all my chemistry tests and it showed I wasn't doing well. I even remember going upstairs, into another class while it was happening, and re-taking a test because I thought I lost my other one. When the teacher said it was upstairs, I stopped and walked out.

Later, I began to walk down the street. It was like a small beachside town. As I was walking down the street, I passed this car going up the street. When I looked in, nobody was driving and ther was some sort of butler outside the car looking into the back seat. Toward the end of this dream, I just started singing for some reason. At first, it started out as something like The Doors mixed with Primus, but later it turned into a modern country song. All I really remember from it was "Got a lotta money in my pocket, Gotta lot a love in my pocket."

Even earlier, I had a low level lucid. I was aware I was dreaming but didn't really take advantage of it well. I took my camera outside to film something and for some reason, just thought it was a dream. I said, if this is a dream, I could whip my camera at the ground and repair it magically, and that's exactly what I did. Later in the dream, I just kinda lost lucidity. I also remember going through the tape in the camera and finding "old" recordings of me when I was fifteen.

In an earlier dream, I only remember being inside this closed-up Circuit City store. There was this couple inside the store, and they said that even though CC went bankrupt, they still worked for them. (Right then and there I should have done an RC, but I didn't!) They were re-modeling the entire place and planned to open up a new electronics retailer called "Shack." (not Radio Shack, just "Shack".) When I looked around, the remodeled place looked like this one store by my house, Five Below. Upstairs was this employees only spot that for some reason I was really curious about. I walked upstairs and saw an office like you'd see in a local insurance place or something, like they converted a residential house into an office. In one room, there was red wall-to-wall carpeting that rolled like a wave pool! I had to come back downstairs when the guy yelled at me not to go up there.
