NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID
Airport Attack:
It all began in the airport. The terror, the hustling crowds. The crowd with its own mind, much like a hive. Cody, Josh, and I were picking up our bags off the rotation. The two of them snatched their bags up and were in turn swallowed by the crowd heading up the ramp to the stairs. I was one of the few left at rotation, of about 20 people in fact. The attendent pushed a button and the metal conveyor shook, and buckled, and sped up. We were all impatiently waiting on our bags, our lives were on the line. But we didn't know why yet, just the warning, and the sirens.
The sirens filled the air, bleating their song. Pushing us all along like sheep in a pen. Our lost bags finally spilled through and I headed up the ramp. I sprinted most of the way up, lugging my suitcase at my side, fumbling with my phone and keys. Cody and Josh were near the top, for some reason this airport was underground.
Shit.
My phone floundered in my fingers and spilled to the floor below. I looked down at it, laying there with its pale tiny backlight.
RATTLE Shake!
The doors on the two floors above me began to shake. I knew most of the other escapees had went through one of the floors above. Then it came.. the shudder from below. 3 flights below a door burst open, people streaming from it's maw. They cleared one flight towards me in three seconds flat, and now I could see them.
Virus. They were manic, they were dangerous, they must be the reason for the sirens. Luckily a few other stragglers seperated me from the group. I hauled myself up two more flights only to stare through the already locked doors at people on the other side.
I was trapped in the stairwell. I backed along the railing, the horde rushing upwards steadily. Then I saw some people getting ready to let me through, surely they knew I wasn't taken by the virus. Right as they opened the door I saw her. A leader, if not by spirit, by action. She at the front of the uncontrollable mass. At first it didn't make sense, she didn't seem sick. She seemed sick with power. I slid through the doors in time. But I hadn't really escaped, I stepped out into ground zero.
