      Unable to Recall

So I've been trying to LD for a while now, but here's the thing. They say to make sure your last waking thought is "I will remember my dreams tonight" and other things like that, and I try to do that. But when I wake in the morning to try and write it down, I don't remember a thing. Not one bit of a dream. I mean, it's like there's SOMETHING there, but nothing that I can remember. Are there any other ways to improve recall?

Shinigami? o.O Death god? Thats rather sinister!
Anyway, most common problems are lack of sleep in some form or another, narcotics and alcohol! Also, when you wake up, try to stay as still as possible, with your eyes shut and just try to remember as much as possible before trying to write anything down!

Oh, also, caffine and stress are also common causes!

Sometimes I remember my dream later that morning. Like when I'm getting out of the shower or getting ready for school.
Just try to remember what you were first thinking and think about that when you're getting ready in the morning and it'll just hit you.

Also, try not to turn on all the lights on when you first wake up. It'll startle you and you'll forget the dream. I only turn on a shaded lamp on my nightstand and get up slowly. If I get up too fast, I can't recall any dreams.

The main thing is just to be patient and don't get frusterated or discouraged.
      Good luck.

Just an update, this morning I managed to remember a dream quite vividly after constantly telling myself I would remember my dream as I fell asleep until I actually believed it. I remembered it when I woke up, sort of lost it during a shower, and then remembered it in nearly all it's entireity during English. Guess I just needed to convince myself to remember.
