I haven't been doing this long enough to know for sure, but in the month or so that I've been recording my dreams, I seem to become really irritated frequently while dreaming. The cause is different in almost every case (I can't do things fast enough, I don't get a response when I talk to people, things break really easily, etc). So I guess my dream-sign is being annoyed... although that's kind of lame. Doing a reality check while I'm annoyed in real life tends to make me more annoyed, because I realize I'm not in a dream...

I've had multiple dreams where I've been driving and either couldn't see/had extreme difficulty seeing or was completely unable to keep control of the car.

In just about every dream that I'm not in the car, I'm at school seeing and talking to people I wouldn't usually find myself around or talking to.

The problem with my dream signs is that I think they are WAY too common and I find myself constantly overlooking them, even when I question it.

I've also had quite a few dreams with alligators in them.

I once had a really vivid digimon involved dream. I don't watch the cartoon or anything. The basic premise was that everybody else had a digimon apart from me, t'wasn't very nice.

I don't know if it's really a dream sign, and it has never triggered lucidity for me, but... my father (who died last year) has propped up in a couple dreams every now and then these past few months.

It's weird that it doesn't trigger lucidity, as I know he's dead. Some say that's because he was "a part of your everyday life," which isn't entirely true, as he left our family about five or six years ago. And I had a dream with him in it two nights ago - and in the dream, he was... well, to put it quite disgustingly, "getting serious" with my aunt (mom's sister).

I know that even if he were still alive, that would never, EVER happen in the real world. Just why didn't I become lucid with that, huh?

One of my common dream signs is odd-looking money. Whenever bills happen to be present in my dreams, they're in strange denominations, like 11-dollar-bills and 9-dollar-bills. Occasionally I'll find rectangular coins and other things, or I'll go on an amazing finding-money-in-the-street streak in a dream.

It's gotten to the point that whenever I'm handling cash, I have to scrutinize it very closely and ask myself, "is this a real unit of currency, or am I actually asleep?"

one dream I had a random money-finding with gold coins in a building, and people were saying "This is a dream! Do a reality check"

Guess who didn't become Lucid?

Thats a cool dreamsign!

Nakedness in an anxiety situation, in a public place. Running naked through schools trying to cover myself.

hm... my dreams are rarely consistent with dream signs, sometimes it seems to shift or I have some signs that seem to come up every once in a while, like seeing dinosaurs, flying, knowing someone I don't really know, like for a while there was this mysterious blond girl in a few of my dreams, and I seemed to know her and be friends with her but I don't know who it could represent in real life. being in the school hallways also seems to be another one, but like I said my dreams are so bizarre it's hard to see consistencies.

I'd like to encourage those who say they have only one or two - or no - dream signs to dig deeper and look a bit harder. I bet you'll discover more DSs than you think.

Here are some of my most common ones:

1) Pool/pond/body of water
2) colorful light show in the sky ('theatre in the sky', 'sprites and jets&#39
3) School (been out since '91)/can't remember locker combo/can't remember next class
4) flying/floating/walking up invisible stairs to impress people
5) a girl I 'know' from another site
6) pulling myself along the ground with my hands
7) using sticks like crutches to walk around without touching the ground
8 ) bike riding
9) finding stuff in dumpsters
10) sandy areas/beaches
11) dirt paths/dirt roads
12) warehouses
13) can't run
14) weighted-down feeling in arms and/or legs
15) roach on wall near bed
16) basement
17) stairs
18) the 2-story build where I used to live and own an electronics repair business
19) camping
20) auctions
21) luminous cats
22) train
23) staying at Mom's house
24) my friend Paul
25) my brother David
26) my brother Robert
27) thrift stores
28) flea markets

...each of those has the power to trigger lucidity for me. And, of course, noticing anomalies in the environment.

I only have a couple, and they're not all that reliable:

- Being in a place that should be crowded but isn't (a highway, a movie theater, etc)

- Being accompanied by both my mother and my friend, no matter how unlikely that is. (This one is the most reliable)

- Seeing the decor of one place everywhere in the dream.

Sharks. Ugh. Really, it helps though, because it most of my dreams I get attacked at some point.
School. When we have a test I didn't know about. There's more, but I don't feel like examining myself right now.

My least common, but longest running dreamsign is seeing this mute kid I was friends with in 8th grade and he actually talks to me. I never heard his voice before.

I also have a habit of casually floating just above the heads of other people in normal day to day situations thinking "hey, those idiots dont realise how easy it is to do this" without even questioning it.

In the last few weeks my main dreamsigns have been British steam and diesel locomotives, even if I'm nowhere near a railway in my dream, sometimes they will have regular tires and be driving down the street.

Today is actually the first day I've specifically been checking around for diesel engines each time I RC.

Also, I dont know if this is a dreamsign or not, but (not so much anymore) the instant I fall asleep and enter a dream, as the dream is starting I think "oh, I've had this dream 1000 times before", but oddly enough I hever became lucid off of this.

Also, in third and fourth grade, whenever I was having any sort of "less than plesent" dream I'd end up having a really rough and intense "rubbing" sensation in my spine, which was sometimes, caused by people/animals in the dream forcibly holding me down and rubbing my back.

Even though I can instantly recognize these in-dream, they've never triggered lucidity. I usually get lucid after I accomplish whatever goal I have. I start thinking to myself "Wow, I actually did that? Craazzeeee!! How did I do that?" and then the answer "because you're dreaming and you can control whatever you want" pops up.

Off the top of my head, some of my dreamsigns:
• Characters that are my enemies tend to be reddish coloured/have red clothing. The redder it is, the more dangerous. Allies or objects or goals tend to be blue. Ambigious things are purple-ish.
• It's always either a partially cloudy sunset, or a clear midnight. When it's midnight, there are tons of shooting stars /meteors, and I have the ability to zoom in or out or move the sky around to look at planets and stars.
• My family members in my dreams are always either dangerous enemies, or incredibly helpless and stupid.
• Friends are either mindless sidekicks that don't speak, or they're trying to get me to do something unnerving (like walking on ceilings or jumping off a cliff)
• If I go in 3rd-person view, there's someone narrating my dream.
• If my dream starts in my house, I always smash through the window, and fly away superman-style.
• Ski-hills are ridiculously scary and unsafe with extremely high, vertical drops, very icy terrain and super-unsafe chairlifts that shake and rattle around and have no safety bar.
• There's usually a hot air balloon ready to fly away in the guest room of my house.
• Malls are absolutely huge, and everything is free. There is always a variation of the same themepark in the mall, which includes an extremely narrow slide about four stories high, a multi-level laser tag area the size of airport, and a super-confusing 3D maze.
• Also, if I somehow stumble upon the entrance/exit of the mall, outside is barren (outerspace, underwater, or really creepy pitch-black abyss) so no one leaves.
• Natural disasters are common. Earthquakes occur more frequently, then tornadoes, then floods.
• Swimming pools have no shallow end, and are really bottomless-pits with water. There are usually dolphins and stuff swimming around too.
• If I'm in a car, it's always driving up an impossibly steep road. I sit in the rear passenger seat freaking out and hoping the car doesn't end up rolling and crashing down(which it never does). Oddly enough, if I get out, I usually slip and crash all the way down while the car is perfectly fine.
• If I'm hiking/exploring nature, it's always because I'm on the run from some military authority.
• If I encounter an old Mayan temple or ruin, I always end up being locked inside.
• Caves are doorways to alternate dimensions.

Good job. A lot of people (myself included) have water as a common dream theme. I wonder why that is.
