Advice for people having problems with dream recall

You should sleep with your body(Head exactly) directed to the north. You'll notice that your dreams are more vivid nad colourful and you remember more details. Don't sleep headed to the west. It's unhealthy.

Don't ask me how this works. I don't know.

I hope this helps. It really did in my case.

I'm a little skeptic, but I'll give it a go tonight for the hell of it!

To be honest it can be taken seriously in many ways
      1. Unnatural Sleep Position might increase your dream recall since you will be sleeping shallower
      - Either because you don't sleep usually in that sleep position.
      - Or because it's uncomfortable/weird enough to make your sleep shallower
      2. Belief (The pure belief that it will boost your dream recall might boost your dream recall. I used to belive that green tea helps with my dream recall while it actually depends on me from what i figured out. If i were pessimistic about my dream recall then my dream memories went down if i remember correctly (Months ago ).
      3. *Quite Quite Theoretical* Position of head might induce resistance against blood flow. Kinda sounds weird but i mean that it's easier to go straight way than climb up. Blood and neural chemicals might start to behave little different by that position
      4. *Theoretical Aswell* It might change where your fluids (blood etc.) cumulate at head. Not that and not really just resistance related thingy as above

You don't have too believe it, but I actually found the information very valuable. It helped me a lot. I'm still new to LD, but after I changed my sleep position I noticed that my dreams are much more vivid and my recall got much, much better. Now i'm able to write down at least 2 dreams per night and before I could have done none or 1. Maybe it's pure placebo? Who knows?
But It worked for me and I personally think this subject related to the flow of energy on Earth.

I found it in a book called Transurfing if anyone wants to know.

Lol I'm sitting here trying to figure out which way is north in my bedroom.

God, what if I've been facing west all this time O_O

edit: I used the compass on my iPhone, and I sleep with my head pointed 15 degrees east of North. I may have to recalibrate my bed a little and see what happens

I'm quite curious whether this works or not. I do remember reading once about cows grazing & sleeping with their head north, in somekind of north-south line and it had to do with the earths magnatism.

Whether this is true, or somewhat helpful for lucid dreaming, I don't know.

Didn't know that about the cows ahaha.

And I don't know either, but I'll experiment with just about anything if it ain't dangerous

This thread made me laugh out loud at work.

First, I'm assuming when you say north you mean lying on your back?

I did read in Patricia Garfield's book Creative Dreaming that when you wake up and you want to remember your dreams you should try not to move. Keep your eyes closed. If you cannot recall anything from the position you wake up in, then you should try to shift to one side and see if you can remember anything on that side. If that doesn't work, you should try the other side. These slight shifts in directions upon awakening can trigger you to remember something. It's probably because we shift during our sleep and at one point when we had a dream we could have been in a different position from the position we woke up and getting back into that position might trigger some sort of muscle memory.

The cow thing is hilarious by the way.
