A possible way to recall dreams

Well i was thinking today. When you dream its almost like a really vivid memory, just your really focused on it. The thought occurd to me that dreaming is, in a way, just remembering a memory, but the memory your remembering is already a memory; remembering a memory of a memory.

So what i thought might help recall dreams it this. Just remember something you were remembering earlier. So earlier today i was remebering something stupid my friend did yesterday, what i do now is remember my self remebering that memory and how i pictured it in my mind.

I hope thats not to complicated to read.

What do you guys think? Any bits your not clear on?

Work? Not work? No idea what im talking about?

I just thought that maybe it's a good way to increase dream recall while awake.

That's a cool thought and it kinda makes sense. I don't know if I'll get around to trying it for myself, but I'll be curious to know if it works out for you. I would guess you would have to practice doing that for a while before there was any noticeable improvement to dream recall though.

      That's a nice theory
(I got it by not reading the "but the memory your remembering is already a memory" part, so I suggest you leave that out, it's confusing.)

I agree it would be plausible, but I don't think it's very likely. You see, dreams are combined memories and stuff, not just one simple memory. It's all new connections

Well the idea is its just remembering in a different way. I do agree dreams are more complicated then just a single memory though

If you were gona try it i wouldn't reccomend stopping other techniques, such as waking after dreams and writing about them etc. I jsut thought it could be an additional thing to do while sitting on the bus or train. Or maybe even while talking to someone you don't actually like

      good idea,
when i sometimes remember that i did have a dream its the memorie of me rememberoing the dream, not the actual dream itself since those memories are so weakly sotored but the daytime memorie of rememberoing you did have a dream is much stronger.

Plus alot of what happenes in dreams is just false memories. So that add's to the effect.

What an interesting idea. I will have to pay attention and try this.
