      Not really having anymore dreams

It seems real weird to me but a long time ago I came here to learn to lucid dream, and I started using the techniques talked about here to enhance dreaming, recall and awareness in dreams. Though I never fully had a complete awareness in a dream, and the time that I did stop myself and said to myself "wait, Im dreaming right now". It was weird like the whole place just errupted, like an earthquake went off and a bomb went off. Then I woke up. I figured I just wasnt meant to lucid dream so I stopped all together. Though I did continue having very vivid dreams, which is pretty cool. And my recall was great, I was remembering half the dreams I was having and I was dreaming just about every night. I just never kept them written down.

Now Im back and Im wanting to get back into it and relearn everything and see what happens this time around, only this time I plan on sticking with it and not giving up so easily. But ever since I have come back to this forum, its like my dreams have ceased to be. Im not drinking as much or taking melatonin anymore, Im allowing myself to sleep naturally. But every night before bed I get real excited and start telling myself that I will dream, and I wonder what I'll dream about. And like I said, now its like I dont dream at all. Theyre real short and scattered when I have them now and I cant seem to remember them anymore.

Am I just thinking too much into it now? Before I was just letting the dreams come on their own, I would just enjoy them. And like I said I had them just about every night, they were all vivid and realistic and I could remember them and they seemed to go on for a while. So whats happening now?

That's good that you're able to recall them, although I think that the first and most important thing that you can begin to do is to start with a dream journal. Lucid dreaming doesn't come naturally or easily to everyone.

Start logging your dreams every morning, and then every week or so make a list of things that occur often in your dreams.

For example, if you find that a lot of your dreams take place in a school setting that would be a dream sign, or even just a feeling. If you're feeling like you always have something really important to do in your dreams, that would be one as well.

From there, start doing reality checks whenever you notice that you're in a situation, or have a similar feeling like you normally do in your dreams.

Starting a dream journal will most certainly increase your dream recall, and knowing what your dream signs are will certainly increase the probability of you having a lucid dream.

Good luck! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Its strange you say you've not been drinking as much. I have just done a month off the booze and my dream recall has dropped massively and have had no lucid action at all.

Before this month I was getting 3-7 dreams a night, about 10% lucid and then ... nothing.

Yeah same here, when I was drinking 7 to 8 a night and taking melatonin, I was dreaming pretty good every night and remembering damn near all of them. Its weird.
