hehe thanks, girls! I'm used to shooting guns because I grew up a hunter's daughter so I learned how to handle firearms early on. And as a woman, it's never a bad idea to know how to handle one. You guys should try it sometime!

At least that jelly doesn't have long tentacles, that would really freak me out. I loooove snorkeling & scuba. Cool video.

I got a few stings this time, but they were nothing too bad. You really don't even realize it until after you've gotten out of the water. It kinda feels like fiberglass or something. Last time I was in the Keys though (back in high school), there were a lot of tiny box jellyfish floating around, that were hard to see. We all came out of the water with welts all over us.

And yeah, Nina, if there were long tentacles streaming off of these things, I don't know if I would have even gotten in the water. Lol. I'm a little about unfamiliar sea-life, as it is, and I dunno if I could have even gotten up the courage to swim with those.
The thing about these jellies, though, were that they were ALL over the place. It was freaky. You stick your head up over the surface for just a moment and then slip back under it, and there's one right in front of your face. Lol.

I wish would could have gotten some video of when we went lobster diving, too. That was great. The water was too murky, though.

So...I gotta know, does peeing on yourself help?

Lmfao. At first I was like "...wut?? " cause I'd never heard that before. Haha.

But, according to abcnews, it hasn't been scientifically concluded to work. ...Good thing I found that out before hearing about it, some other time, and giving it a try.

It's true, some guy I know had to have other people pee on him when he got stung by a jellyfish.

Hmm. There seems to be a lot of back-and-forth going on, about the myth, from what I've read so far. So there may be some truth to it, I dunno. I also read something about the ammonia in pee working to neutralize it, or something.

Yup I heard that ammonia in the urine neutralizes it too. Bear in mind I got this from Friends. So I can't tell you how accurate it actually is.

I poo on my stings.

Hell yeah. After living a little further north and going to murky-ass Daytona Beach, for so long, it never ceases to blow my mind how clear the water is, down there in the Keys.

Nope. Unfortunately, not yet. Two of my friends are certified, so the most I have done is strapped on their vests, in a pool, while they practiced, and used a tandem-line in Blue Springs, when they went diving one day. I've never used by myself, though.

And about the jellyfish peeing thing, when my friend got stung while we were on vacation she peed on herself. Then a bunch of mexican guys poured vinegar over it, and the combo made it better.

ah man nows the time i wish i had an underwater video camara on some of my scuba diving trips. You should have seen some of the Cool things under there!

underwater is amazing. Except lakes. They just get really dark and cold as you go deep.
