Before sleep: Since I've been very busy lately, the busiest I've been in nearly a year, I was more focused on stress and anxiety before sleep. (Note: I did not read the chat logs until after I woke today.) I had an especially anxious night after pondering the idea of an AI takeover in the near future, perhaps 40 or so years from now. The overall feeling I'd say I had when I went to bed was "anxious." I tried to calm my mind as much as possible, which I did by allowing my kitten to sleep in bed with me.
Dream #1 Recalled This was a dream related to World of Warcraft (most likely stemming from the fact that I played that night before bed.) It kept fading from third person in my game character to my physical self in first person, as if I were playing, but merging with my character occasionally. I was flying around a city of Elven ruins that was invaded by demons, who I had to constantly kill. I was waiting for someone important to return, but I can't remember who it was. By the time I saw a figure in the distance, another player had killed him and I couldn't interact with him. I faded back to first person "real life" self, where I found two new kittens outside, one of which I picked up. It was black and white, but turned gray when I looked back. They were both unhealthy, very bony. I fed them, and then I woke up when my kitten wanted out.
Dream #2 Recalled This was a strange dream, as it occurred in the time period from 10:41 AM to about 10:43, a short waking, and then again from 10:44 to 10:46. This was one of the best examples of time dilation I've ever experienced, as I could have sworn I was asleep for a few hours when this dream happened. I got hungry in the dream and decided to go make some rice. I found an empty plastic bottle that I filled with white rice, a strange sauce that I found, and a bit of chicken broth. It took a while to prepare the rice, but eventually it was ready to be cooked. I popped it into the microwave. My family and a couple friends were over and wanted to eat wings instead, so they ordered them. I heard them talking about how "I never really fit in" with the family, specifically based on my religious beliefs that differ from theirs. They left to go get their food, and I made more rice after, as my rice didn't cook properly.
I'm not sure where the waking moment was in there, but I specifically remember glancing at my clock and seeing it was 10:43.
