Great. If you haven't already read the syllabus and first lesson. The goal for this week is to make sure you have good dream recall for when we start on DILD.

Dream on 18th May 2011 awoke at 6:00am:

I am in a Cafe/Restaurant which is not familiar to me. I have been asked to assist in a function being held this evening. I ask one of the employees if the whole cafe/restaurant will be used and they tell me that only the restaurant section will be used and not the cafe area which was a seperate room. I now ask how many people it sits. I can not remember if there was a reply. I am now in a bathroom looking for drinking glasses. There is a cupboard near one of the toilets. I slide the door open to see if there are any glasses in there. I think to myself that it is not hygienic to store glasses here but continue on my way. I am now at a table with some other people. One person I recognise from my work. There are now many people sitting around us at all the tables. It is really noisy and sounds like hundreds of birds chirping. I make a comment about the noise and then mimic the noise like a bird to the person I was with. The dream now ends.

Dream on 19th May 2011 awoke at 6:30am:

I am walking with a couple of friends down a grassy road. The area I am in has trees around but is not familiar to me. We walk past about 3-4 people having a picnic on a grass area. I can smell food being barbequed. I now see a truck up ahead. I look into the back of the truck and see meat being cooked on a spit. The meat actually looks charred and burnt. I am now looking at an area that looks like a camping ground. I say to one of my friends that I have camped here before (note: I do not camp at all). He says to me that he has a question about mathematics he wants to ask me (?). I look into the sky past a couple of trees and see the Air Force aerobatic team flying across the sky in formation. I also see a bird mimicking the aircraft and performing the same manouvers with them. The aircraft are now flying towards me. I duck down because they are close to the ground. I now stand and turn as they go by. They now seem really small as they fly away from me. They seem to be the size of sparrows and only a few feet off the ground. I again look into the sky and see two modern looking aircraft. They seem to be hovering with the aircraft nose pointing to the ground and their canopies touching. They seem to be turning around each other. I say to one of my friends that I have never seen this type of aircraft before. The dream now ends.

My dream recall is pretty good. Never seem to have had a problem with it.
I began LD training on 17th January 2011 and have always kept my dream journal upto date.

You are doing a great job mylittlemarley. I will be posting the DILD lesson soon. With your recall I am sure you will have a lucid dream next week.

      Keep it up!

You were right. Had two short lucid dreams last night. The first one started from a false awakening and the other was a DILD. I just knew it was unusual what was happening to me.

      Reality Checks

      1. I wear a reminder band with writing on it. I check that to see if the writing has changed. I have actually used it in a Lucid Dream and the words are all faded.
      2. I sometimes jump into the air if I'm not in public.
      3. I always look around for anything abnormal.

      Triggers

      1. In all of my false awakenings, my bedside clock is gone so I automatically know I am dreaming so if I awake during the night, I always look at my clock first.
      2. I seem to have alot of dogs in my dreams so when ever I see a dog in waking life I do a reality check but I have never become lucid because of a dog in my dreams.
      3. Water leaking and flowing in strange areas.

I have been trying to be aware most of the day and look out for anything unusual and ask myself "Is that normal?" or if I say to myself "That's weird" I perform a reality check.

I had a Lucid Dream last night which started with me being late for work. When I went to my garage, someone elses vehicle was there. I then became lucid. I had a false awakening very soon after in the same dream.

I also like to perform a reality check just before a conversation with someone.

So now I had another False Awakening on 20th June which only lasted about 15 seconds. I was worried about waking up which caused me to guess what? WAKE UP. Frustrating. I keep telling myself not to do that.
I had a DILD last night 21st June where I was walking and just started floating across the ground. I just knew I was dreaming and shot up into the sky. Probably the highest I've ever been.
To stop from waking up I just started yelling out stuff and began singing to get my mind off waking up. It seemed to work.

Have not had any luck with WILD yet.

I had a bit of luck last night with a LD. I just realized I was dreaming during a dream. I was outside a building and there were people and cars around me. Won't go into too much detail but the people all started to stare at me and walk towards me. I tried to fly but found it difficult to go high. I used the earth as a trampoline to get height but started to lose lucidity. I performed the spin technique and had a false awakening. I know Im still dreaming because my alarm clock is always missing. I went straight downstairs and my front door looked like a foyer to an apartment block. When I went out and down some stairs onto the street, a very tall (maybe 7 foot) woman said hello to me as she came up the stairs. She wanted me to go with her but I told I had to go. I wanted to explore the dream world. She would not leave me alone and I kept telling her I had to go. I tried to get her to leave me alone by saying I will come back later. She kept insisting so I ran but she caught up to me. I turned and did like a push action from a distance to push her away but it did not work. I now wake up.

This wake back to bed thing is pretty good combined with MILD. Had 2 LD's last night. One short and one that just seemed to go on for ages. Still can't seem to fly really high though. I did ask for a Ferrari and got an old F1 which I drove. Pretty cool.

Had a DILD a couple of nights ago. I was talking to my sister and her answer to my question just seemed strange. All of a sudden BAM. I'm lucid. I was only lucid for what felt like 5 minutes then I started to lose it so I did the spin technique and had a false awakening. I'm pretty use to those now. I went down stairs at my place only to find all my work collegues doing a hip hop dance act. It was so funny. After a while I began to lose it again and woke up.

I think the WBTB works best for me combined with MILD. I had another LD a couple of nights ago. I went to bed at 10:30pm and got up at 3:20am and wrote down my dreams which took 20mins. I then went back to bed and did the MILD technique repeating my mantra "Next time I'm dreaming, I want to remember to recognize a dream sign." Had a LD by 5:00am. I tried it the other night but was so awake I did not go back to sleep for a few hours. I woke up at about 2:30am and stayed up for about 30 mins before going back to bed. I think it was because I had the lights in the room on full and it woke me up too much. I am now going to use a small torch which is not so bright or dim the lights right down. I think for me, 15-20mins up is enough. I have found that all my other good WBTB attempts occured when I get up around the 3:00am mark and only stay up 15-20mins and do MILD.

I have also been following the Stephen LaBerge book "Exploring the world of Lucid Dreaming" with its reflection-intention technique and the prospective memory training.
Also you should check out the videos if you have not already of Stephen LaBerge doing a seminar on YouTube. Its the Russian one. There are 10 parts.
