I signed up in DV yesterday, and was very pleased to find a course on meditation, because I find that having 'classes' helps me keep focus and actually work every day.
For me meditation is a form of relaxation, purity of thoughts and inner or outer (depending on the type) awareness. I don't find it difficult to meditate and hope that I will do it on a regular basis after finishing this course. Another goal of mine is to increase my awareness before bed, which would help me have more and more lucid dreams. Besides, meditation is so calming and enjoyable that I just can't say no to the possibility of doing it every day .
Yesterday I did void meditation shortly. At first it didn't seem easy, but whenever I found myself thinking too much or focusing on a thought rather than ignoring it, I focused on my breath for a moment, and soon it was as if I wasn't thinking anymore. I was just being. Of course I had to think about how nice the experience was, and then think a little more... Overall, though, the experience was very pleasing. No lucid dream that night, do I did look at my hand before sleeping and say 'the next time I see this hand I will be dreaming' and just thinking 'I will lucid dream tonight'.
Looking forward for today's meditation and then to focal meditation!
