Rman's Workbood: Intro to Lucid Dreaming

Houses Floating Up; I Am Dreaming Hoodie (Matte87) and the Radio Announcer Talking TO ME Edit DJ Entry by Rman on Today at 08:13 AM (Rman's Dream Journal) Houses were floating up due to either being haunted or due to a tornado...I think. Mostly, it was a threat that they were going to float away, but it seemed one lifted up. I more remember waking up from the dream and trying to remember it. -- Matte87 was talking on chat in waking life about putting something on his hoodie--"Are you dreaming" I think. I said it should say, "I am dreaming" because that is what I want to say in my dream. So last night I dreamed I was in a city with some event going on and some construction or something, and it was on a college campus, so there was a bunch of shit going on. As I'm walking down the sidewalk, I see a guy with a hoodie on that says, "I am dreaming." Of course, like a dumb ass I miss the sign. I kept going where I was going, then decided to talk to the guy with the hoodie, but I couldn't find him. Then I started to hear the guy on Public Radio in waking life. He often finds his way into my dream, usually just manipulating the story. This morning he was talking about Isreal and the surrounding nations. I started dreaming of a reporter working through a crowd of people with this story. It was a frantic scene as it seemed to affect us more directly than that news usually hits us. I followed the reporter up stairs through a crowd of people. Up the stairs on the next level of whatever building it was, I had to use the bathroom. The radio personality was sitting on the floor with his back up against the wall doing his show. As I went to the bathroom, walking away, he leaned forward and raised his voice so I could hear the end of what he was saying. That was really weird. So, I had to drop the kids off at the pool. It is a big bathroom, but there is a lock on the door, so I lock it for privacy. Then I realize that there are multiple stalls, so the bathroom should be able to allow for more than just me. I reluctantly unlock the door. Then I went looking for my stall. I hate using public bathrooms and this was the worst. There were these small, frail looking commodes, and they were just seats. Instead of a bowl, they had bags hanging down, and the bags weren't opened well. I would have to fix one so it would be open. The dream ended there and I'm glad it did. Yuk! Last night I dreamed I was in bed with an attractive, long-haired blonde. She was in a tight sweater. Her family was all around us. It was like the bed was in the living room or something. It seemed I had wanted her for some time, and it would be understandable for me to touch her, so I put my hand up her shirt. I felt her breast including her nipple, but then she told me to stop. I tried to pull my hand out, but her sweater was too tight. I tried to tell her "OK" that I would stop. Eventually, I got my hand out. The dream ended there. -- I also had a strange dream of complex emoticons that created a whole body including stitching on pockets and stuff. In waking life I've been chatting too much on DV.

I was in a car I used to own. Possibly a VW Jetta. I was parked in a spot that was very cramped. I tried to get around an obstacle, and I did, but then I was presented with another obstacle. I went down a little bank, around a tree, to get to a lower drive. I thought everything was fine, but then there were other cars blocking me. I couldn't seem to get to a clear area where I could drive. I finally made it to a garage where my Jetta was. Yea, I know. So, I talk to the mechanic and he tells me that a flood got the car and I needed to replace the battery. In waking life, water gets on the glow plug of diesels I think if you go through a puddle, but if it is not a diesel, water can still make your car conk out. Then I was on top of the car that needed to be fixed. Two friends took a hand and helped me jump down.

Thanks Zebrah. I've been perfectly diligent with my DJ since joining. I read on this site I think, that as you get older, you spend less time in REM sleep.

Thanks Zebrah. I've been perfectly diligent with my DJ since joining. I read on this site I think, that as you get older, you spend less time in REM sleep. I think that is partially true. Because REM sleep is very light you are more likely to experience sleep disturbance. It shouldn't be a big deal. You're doing fine as it is.

I was in an old West setting. I saw a guy sitting in a chair in a big room--a bar/saloon or something. I remember a wood floor. The room was very big and pretty empty. The guy in the chair had straight, dark brown hair. He was rich, though he didn't look it. I heard him saying under his breath what he would do if the business were his. He was saying something about a security system, and his thoughts beyond that were to fix the place up. He intention was to be helpful to the owner rather than simply stating what he would do if it were his in an ego-centric fashion. I went over to him and thanked him for being concerned for other people instead of being apathetic due to being very well off himself. Then there was another scene where an old guy, a real character comes into play. He had a crew cut due to being older and not having much hair. What little he had was gray. He is wearing old, sweaty clothes of gray. He was in a long-sleeve undershirt and suspenders. He wore a monocle, but it didn't make him look sophisticated. It had a film over it as though it hadn't been washed in...ever, and made his mouth kind of turn up to keep it in place. He had a silver bullet which was supposed to be valuable due to the silver content, but it was more than that. He came up to a guy behind an out-door sales stand trying to sell it. There was some lore behind the bullet. It was coveted for some reason. The old man had the bullet on a necklace. He pulled it out from his undershirt to show it to the man behind the stand. The man would not buy the bullet for the requested price. The old man explained in a raspy voice that the item was the real thing and he wanted a fair price for it. He put the bullet back under his shirt, squatted a little adjusting his pants, and snapped his suspenders, running his thumbs from half way up to his shoulders where he popped them. That is where the dream ended. I don't usually dream of anything half this interesting based on the visuals or content. It was really cool.

I collect meteorites. Meteors were headed towards Earth. "We" were all plotting them using meteorites to illustrate on a grid where the meteors were headed. I had them up on pins of some sort raised up from the grid. I was a little unhappy with the size and shape of the meteors I had. That was the whole dream.

Fragments of Houses and Slipping in a Pond Edit DJ Entry by Rman on Today at 10:27 PM (Rman's Dream Journal) IWL, I have been looking for house. In doing so, I always take an interest in the garden. Sometimes you can snag a cutting or some seeds. Last night I had more vivid dreams for the third night in a row, but I've been tired, so my recollection is week. I dreamed I was looking at some houses, but not to buy. One was my brother's, though it was a made up home just for my dream. There were some others I was looking at as well, but they belonged to people; they weren't up for sale. I was looking at my brother's house a little jealous, turned around, then tried to walk around a little pond or lake and slipped in on my back. I was really disturbed by this. It hurt my feelings to fall in. I got out and never really felt wet, but I forgot what happened when I got out. -- There was a cat either in the same dream, or in a dream skip. I forget everything else about that dream. I've been working 11 hour days plus home work, otherwise I would log my dreams earlier.

Poor recall again. I'm working 11 hour days and it is very stressful work. I dreamed that I received several packages from my mother via UPS. In waking life my mom recently sent me a package.

Picking Up My Daughter I had to pick up my daughter from school. The clock said 3:14. I probably didn't see the numbers strange because the dream was not vivid. Your Truck is Fixed My mechanic called and told me my truck currently in the shop, is fixed. It would cost $114.00. I told him I loved him because he always treats me right. My real bill will be closer to $600.00 This led into being at a restaurant where something was going on with the staff. They were involved in something. Someone was talking to the owner about doing a survey. They wanted to use the restaurant as a church on sunday to get a bunch of people there so that they could do a survey for something (?) on everyone who showed up. The owner didn't want to use the restaurant for another business purpose.

I've been working 11 hour days + homework, so I havn't been able to move to Lesson 2 yet, but-- I was in a vacuum. I thought I was dreaming, but thought I might simply be awake. I pushed my arms out to see if I was lucid. I was having trouble-knew I was lucid. Nothing around, it was stupid; I relaxed and started falling into the void. Soon I was at a party. I started making a move on a white girl and felt up her shorts. Then I lost the dream. Soon made moves on overweight black girl. Cute, but I liked her skinny friend. Semi/lucid to normal dreaming: Soon had to leave the party. Looked for my scarf, found it, went to say goodbye to the host. I went in his room and saw all the stuff in his room. I clearly so a forged iron skeleton. Not scary, not life size, just an artistic piece. It was on an iron stick.

Lizards I met a man who collected lizards to protect his home. These were like monitor lizards, though I forgot what there were called in my dream. He had three kinds of lizards. One was kind of soft skinned like a gecko. The other two had leathery skin. One was brown and black like a Royal/Ball Python-the other was gray with perhaps a few black spots on it. The man had one that was about 4 feet running around the property. Most were only as large as my hand. He picked up a couple. I told him not to break the tail (commonly done when picking up smaller lizards due to a survival technique). He said he knew, but the tip came off of one. I picked the both up afterwards, and one opened its mouth to bite. I held both behind the head concerned about how much pressure I put on the neck to prevent a bite. Then I saw some shallow pottery with a wide mouth. Baby lizards were crawling around trying to get out. Special Inhaler I might have been with the same man who had the lizards--I'm not sure, but two guys were talking about something that people used to get really high. I picked up this tube and inhaled. Using dream logic, it was like a chamber that smoke would have gone into, but you could then remove the chamber and inhale straight from one side of the chamber. One of the guys sarcastically questioned why I was having trouble standing up. I knew I was busted. They were not into drugs at all. They had a police feel about them. They weren't police, but they had no tolerance for drugs, and they knew I took the hit. I remember having trouble keeping my balance. It was a strange feeling to be high in a dream. Eventually the trouble passed, but that is the end of the dream.

I am in training to drive a big rig. I dreamed I was watching an old training video for trucking. My road instructor was in the movie; he was about 25 years younger than he is in waking life.

I am pebble deaf in my right ear, which is something I have to deal with regularly. It bothers me a little. Someone was telling me something but I couldn't hear him. My hearing was way worse than usual. I couldn't really hear anything he was saying. I decided to clean my ears with baby oil, which is a trick I learned from Dr. Oz in waking life. I had a false awakening in which my hearing improved, as my bad hearing was only in a dream.

I was playing Tetris last night in waking life. I dreamed I was calculating miles driven on a trucking run by the shape of each leg of the run.

Lesson 2 Two Reality Checks: Look at my hand Put my finger through my palm I have been holding my nose as my second reality check, but I think that would be a bit disturbing in a dream. I feel as though it might wake me up due to the moment of possible discomfort. Two Triggers: Walking through doorways Dogs I will continue to be under a fair amount of stress, so I will practice to own that piece of the puzzle now.

Zebrah, I always journal my dreams. I guess I fail to note in my workbook when I don't remember them. My dream goals are to enter my worst childhood nightmare (which has proven difficult so far), and to shoot fireballs or move something with my mind. I think that before I can do that, I need to focus on my ADA and triggers more. I used to think about it all the time--then when I had a lucid, I remembered my dream goals. The last two or threelucid's I had, I didn't think of them at all.

I dreamed I was in a house decorated a bit for my mom and a bit for my dad. I was with my brother and cousin N. Everyone was getting ready to go out. When it was my turn to shower, I guy that looked like Vingh Rhames said he was going to attack me if I didn't get in the bedroom right then and lock the door, so I did. Then I realized I would be trapped there, so I opened the door. He attacked me and I broke his arm behind his back. He said he was going to sell a house and get me back (?). Then I woke up.
