I just started watching this, and it's awesome. I remember seeing a teaser for it a long time ago, but I'd pretty much forgotten about it, since then.

I love Mortal Kombat and the whole story surrounding it, but I really can't get past the bad acting, bad production values, etc. MK live action just doesn't work for me (i'm not even go to start with the 2 movies they made). I would MUCH rather see a cartoon made out of it, or even better, the same kind of animation they use for the cinematics that they used for Shaolin Monk, Deception, and Armageddon. Those were amazing!

Those were amazing! This. New movies keep coming out that seem promising but they ultimately fail because they end up as live action films. Like that Dragon Ball Z movie... *shudders* Also, holy shit @ those vids. I'd definitely pay to see a movie like that.

Those were amazing! No argument, there. And part of me wants to just kind of accept the limitations of a live-action production, but most of me thinks it to be the fault of the film-makers, not the medium. There are some awesome superhero/fantasy/effect-heavy films that have done things right, when it comes to over-the-top action and powers. It's just that the mainstream ones don't usually live up to that standard...especially the ones that come from video games. As far as TVshows and webisodes go, though, I think this actually looks pretty good.
