      The Amityville Horror

Anybody see this? Especially the recent remake?

It probably wasn't the biggest movie, but it was decently engaging, imo. Very creepy.

My friend and I liked it so much, we bought the original, and decided it was crappy. (Wasn't scary at all!!) We even saw it twice on the day we watched the remake, while dragging another friend.

I refuse to watch the remake (lol). I have seen so many terrorable horror films over the past few years that were remade; The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Dawn of the Dead (2004), Exorcist: The Beginning (2004) etc etc.

I just dont see the reason or logic behind the idea other than to make $$$$$.

Why cant we have more movies by Wes Craven, David Cronenberg, George Romero, Dario Argento and John Carpenter.

'New Horror' is style without substance, it totally misses the point of Horror.

I haven't seen the remake, and I most likely will wait for the DVD. I have seen the original and it was simply was not a very good movie. I suppose it was interesting to people at the time it was made.

Seen Cabin Fever? That's the only horror movie in recent memory that I actually enjoyed. Reminded me of the classics (most notably, Friday the 13th). No-name actors, lots of gore, cheap effects, cheesy jokes, lots of nudity. Can't beat it.
