      I'll give a nice list:

      Series
Mushi-shi: Trippy, fantastic tales that are so incredibly imaginative it's like a dream. Only a few episodes out so far.

Naruto Ninjas, action, deep refferences, humour and imagination. This is so far my favourite series of all time. It is truly breathtaking. It's not just a cartoon, but an incredible refference to human behaviour and true pain.

FLCL Six episodes of mad, random hillarity. Incredibly fun.

Ranma 1/2 Quite funny, but befare, full of sexual refferences and jokes.

Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne Tells you a bit about history even! Full of magic and action. Lovely art aswell.

Cardcaptor Sakura Again a magical and imaginative series. Addicting and quite cute on top of it.

Blood+ Haven't seen much of it, as not much exists so far, but it's full of vampires and blood! Also I sense suspension! Do you need more of a reason?

Slayers You need to see this series. NEED TO! No other explanation required.

Dragonball (Z) As long as you watch the uncut Japanese version, lovely action packed series. The plot isn't immaculate, but the characters are seemingly well developed and the fights are fantastic.

And as for movies, Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away will do. Also My Neighbour Totoro.

      <3 Miyazaki

99.99% of the teenage population does or has tried smoking pot. If you have and you've enjoyed it, copy & paste this into your signature line. Everyone else, you're lying!

I really want to see FullMetal Alchemist, i've heard a lot about it and i think i saw a comic of it in a shop the other day.

My favourite anime so far is Fist Of The North Star, it's hilarious if you're into exploding heads!

I can't recommend it enough. I'm not too thrilled with Viz's translation (I own Volume 1 in english), but I'm picky like that anyway. Especially with FMA. The manga is SO much better than the anime (which is probably my favorite show of all time, so that should say a lot).

There's an MSN site that has all the issues up to date if you want to read them online. Just Google it and you'll find a load of stuff. ^_^ Or visit ZOMG Fruit Tree Alchemists (Google them). That's where Lucius and I get our FMA fix every month. She password protects every issue with a riddle, though, but they aren't too hard to figure out. She does this because technically, it's 'illegal' to continue scanlating a manga that's already been licensed. But since Viz sucks dirty balls, everyone does it anyway.

Drangon Ball z is a good anime series. It has alot of action (energy beams blasting people, wierd monsters etc). I would think the series it would be quite easy to get hold of.

I''ve always found anime a bit freaky, everyone seems to have ears, tails or wings, or a combination of the three.

Good choices from most of you.

      (In that order)

I haven't finished Inuyasha, but I was beginning to enjoy it. Same with witch hunter robin, but it takes a while to get exciting.
Hellsing didn't quite live up to expectation, but I enjoyed it anyway.
My wife tends to prefer Cowboy Bebop. Not bad, but not my usual style.

I just posted in the other thread but I'll put it here too.

I would watch most of what people have suggested. However, you'd probably want to watch one from each genre of anime. Search up online and find examples from each category and see which one you like.

I agree with the avoiding dubs for the most part, they really take away from the enjoyment.

My own suggestion is called Last Exile, as I said in the other thread, it has a pretty deep and serious plot and an interesting world setting. It's one of those where you'll feel awed and somber after watching. The genre for Last Exile is steampunk (mixture of modern technology and older world setting, if you've think Jules Verne, Sky Captain, or Final Fantasy, that's pretty much what it is).

Well it depends what genres you like.

With cool ninja action and humour definatley watch Naruto <----- That link is episodes 1-60 and here is all the other episodes but with a slow server >_<

      But I seriously reccomend that.

Also Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo and Bleach are some others.

Bah. Naruto. I might start watching it again when they're done with the crappy fillers.

Gensoumaden Saiyuki is pretty cool too, though it’s a little old. I love the manga.

And I can't reiterate the awesomeness of Fullmetal Alchemist enough. But seriously, read the manga too. It’s way better than the already pretty-damn wonderful anime.

      I'll give you mine!! ^__^

First of all, I don't see why some of you here think that admitting that you use to like Pokemon is a bad thing. A lot of people liked it at some time or another. There's nothing wrong with that. Heck, I'm STILL into it! Ya know, just in case the trainer card in my sig didn't give it away.

      Even though It's not on anymore, I'm still a die-hard Yu-Gi-Oh fan. (YES!!!!! NEW SPINOFF!!!!!! Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's BABY!!! )

Naruto is good, But I personally recommend Naruto: Shippuden. But I warn you now; IF YOU ONLY LIKE ACTION, AND YOU DON'T HAVE A LOT OF PATIENCE, DON'T WATCH IT. Seriously, I'm tired of all the whining bloody IDIOTS on every site I go to saying It has no action. It's called a storyline!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, The three above, everything else everyone said (especially Chobits), And these:

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - Laugh out Loud, crap your pants funny

Potemayo - Again, Laugh out Loud, crap your pants funny...with a lot of cute

Jigoku Shoujo - Very dark and engaging. Respectfully dubbed "Hell Girl"

Gundam 00 - By far, the BEST Gundam series I've seen. But I warn you now. Every 2 to 5 minutes or so, you WILL hear "Celestial Being". (Really, EVERY 2 to 5 minutes)

Cyborg 009 - God, I miss this one. It use to be on Toonami (when it was on in the afternoon a.k.a the 90's) Just downright great

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni - if you like insane, homicidal, yet really cute girls, then you'll LOVE this one

Then there are others like D-Gray Man, Gin Tama, Buso Renkin, Code Geass, and others I can't remember right now. I'll find out what those are. Hey, it pays to be in an Anime Club. (The ones in bold and italics are the one I first watched in Anime Club)

EDIT: AHA!!! I remembered another one we saw the club; Fate Stay Night. All I'm telling you is that if you are going to watch the 1st episode, look for a scene with saber and her sword. An amazing screenshot, for sure.

I like Wolf's Rain mostly(even though I can't really grasp the plot...). Fruit's Basket is alright, Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist is quite awesome too. Hayao Miyazaki's movies are the greatest...about a year ago I just found out that a movie I had since I was like 7 years old was made by him(My Neighbor Totoro). I like Princess Mononoke the most of all his movies(because it has wolves in it). Bleach, Inuyasha, and Blood + are some animes I can't really get into watching. Death Note is alright, but a bit boring....

      FLCL

      My Neighbor Totoro

I liked those, I'm not too much of an anime fan, but these ones were pretty good.

I'm trying to remember another movie that was really good, I'll edit this one when I get the name.
EDIT: I remembered it, it was called Paprika, it's a very surreal film, I really liked it.

EDIT: Pretty much any movie on this site... The Studio Ghibli Collection: Home
