      No More Videogames >: (

Yesterday I deleted every videogame from my PC.

Videogames really are a waste of time. Not more a waste of time then a movie or a book, but a hell of a lot more addicting. =)

And looking to a computer screen all the time can't be good for dream realism. In bed after I would have played a few hours I couldn't get my mind off the videogames. It would be all I would see =)

I hope it will improve the real-life-ness of my dreams, and I hope this will make me wasting less time ^__^

You actually did that, how could you? , videogames are what makes dreams fun, some of my favorite dreams came from video games.

I used to like those jurassic park dreams I used to get from playing jurassic park on the gamecube.

Well basicly all you need is more graphical games if you want vivid dreams, atleast thats what I'd think.

      lol

I like real life better then video-games. Video-games allready have beter grapics then real life sometimes (like pretty skies and stuff). But even though I kick ass in my video games I find that normal dreams have more potency to be fun.

You have no feelings in video games. Maybe you do, and that's nice. But my video game dreams arn't more fun then playing a normal video game. ^__^

And secks with video-game girls is just perverted ^__^ I would rather have a real girl. And in videogames nothing is weird. Even IRL-videogames. So it's harder to become lucid I think =)

My first lucid was caused by noticing something strange in a game I like, of course being my first lucid I had a false awakening though .

Yes I know what you mean, I wouldn't enjoy playing tetris in my dream, I would however not mind having the theme of a game in my dream, although I have to agree on the vido game girl thing, maybe thats why I havn't had much wet dreams, lol

Wow, that's gotta take some willpower. You're absolutely right: the worst thing about video games is how addicting they are. If I were to tally up the number of hours of my life I've wasted on them, I'd probably swear off video games for good. Or at least, try. Plus, its quite hard on my eyes.

I think movies and books are actually slightly bettter, books in particular. Movies and books both tend to tell a coherent, enjoyable story that is almost always better than the best video game story. Even Halo (the original), my all-time favorite videogame story, can't compare to a decent movie. With books, we get the added advantage of improving our language skills.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

      I salute you Neruo.

I do think video games are a frivolous time waster in general.
      Give me a good book...

There is no such thing as an addicting video game, only addictive personalities.

On one hand, I guess I should congratulate you for having the will power to give up video games, for whatever reason, because having to give up anything you're addicted to is no easy job. For that, I'll say: More power to you. 8)

However, on the other hand, I hate to see the negative perspective that people tend to take with video games. Many of the negative comments I hear about video games are nothing more than misconceptions, if you ask me.

      As far as Neuro's case:
Maybe you shouldn't look it in terms of comparing computer game graphics to dream graphics, and more in terms of content. I've gotten so much wild and interesting dream content from video games, it's unbelievable. I couldn't live with how boring and mundane many of my dreams would be if it wasn't for the mind-bending scenarios and experiences that come from different video games. I guess graphical issues aren't really a problem for me. I rarely, if ever, have had a dream that actually Looked digitized, even if it has exclusive video game content in it, so I guess we differ on that. But as far as being a waste of time, I guess that depends on what you're getting out of your video gaming experience. Video games set as training scenarios for real-world problem-solving, logistics exercises, hand-eye coordination, anger management (for many ^_^), entertainment (which is not a bad thing at all), building imagination (if you're the type that likes to envision many video games as if they were realistic situations), perserverance, tenacity, will, and a list of many other positive things.

But, back to the point: I hope giving up video games helps out your dreaming experience, but as for mine, I love the imaginative ammunition that videogames give my subconscious by expanding my possibilities for intense, fantastic, and almost unfathomable dream environments and scenarios.

      To each his own.

You are a much braver person that I, I sold a lot of my consoles to raise cash for my spanking brand new Xbox 360 and to make up for it I have been playing every PC game I can get my hands on

I don't know why video games are so addicting, Also I don't know how people prefer books. Video games are really just books or movies except you act out the role of the main character

Books and movies are allmost exactly the same like video games, people just read it to escape from this boring reality to some cool story.

Read a book? Fuck off! A book every now and then can be great, but not like it's more social then a video game and video games tought me english

Note: I AM FUCKING BORED : ( lol
