I've heard some bad things about this game, like it freezing ect. Is this true?

I was thinking of getting it but some reviews made me question it.

My friend had it yesterday, bought it in the morning, and said it had crashed twice since then. He said it was worth it though.

Sure a little freeze here, a little there is ok but this sounds like it's happening a hell of alot. I'm waiting until it's fixed to get it or else it will just ruin the experience for me.

Perhaps the PC version will be better. But it's getting released in 2008.

Yeah, it's lagged atleast once for all my frat brothers who have it. I don't think it's so much the game itself as the game system overheating because everyone plays it too much

The graphics, storyline, and gameplay are amazing. The only bad thing about it is the one-button attack, but everything else makes up for that.

Word. I always feel left out when the great games for 360 come out. 08's right around the corner.

Yeah it's frozen on me 4 times since I bought it. Twice in rapid succession, also it's crashed on me when you're in the limbo/transition place with the blue fog. I spent about half an hour runing around there thinking, "Something isn't right here." Waiting for me to warp somewhere else. Then I froze mid-run and had to restart. The other three times were less memorable. It's slightly annoying but doesn't really detract from the whole game experience.

On a different note, has anyone had problems with frame-rate? I've noticed hat occasionally it will go sightly jerky. Again, not enough to ruin such a brilliant (and it is brilliant) game but enough for me to notice and think that they should have tidied it up before release, or maybe in a patch to be released online.

Holy mother of god. It must be one heck of a brilliant game for people to forgive all of these problems...

For the people who are playing it: what aspects of the game do you like most?

Surprisingly I really really like the combat, it's both challenging and rewarding. You can't just wade through enemies who even use their sword effectively. These guys will block and block efficiently, but never enough that you feel it's boring and too hard. Also, once you've unlcked counter-attacks and dodges the game becomes a lot more tactical. Do you go for the offensive combo attacks, or stay on the defensive and wait for them to make a move and go for a counter-kill? Whatever you do, as long as you do it well, it looks amazing.

One other small little detail which I like is that if you're not holding block, you're not instantly going to take a hit to the head like any other game. Altair will actually parry the block (ineffectively and desperately) and your health will be sapped because of that.

The depth of the game adds to it as well. In one instance I had to get past some guards into a church, and there was no way I was going to do that without raising the alarm and causing a fight (something I did not want). I equipped my arm-blade-thing and sauntered over to a civilian who was quite near to the guards and stealth-killed him. The guards wandered over to investigate what was going on and I walked into the church. Mission accomplished.

Something I don't like is the falling. You can fall from too high without being injured. You ought to think, "Wow, if I fall or jump off this 3-story building I'm going to seriously injure myself. In Assassin's Creed you can just jump off and not worry about your health at all. The most you'd lose is 2-3 bars out of around 13 so it's not a problem in my experience.

The climbing is fun, along with the free-running, although it doesn't really feel special and unique; it just feels...normal. It doesn't seem like an "aspect" of the game but just, the game. Of course it's really enjoyable grabbing the attention of the guards and then taking to the rooftops in an attempt to lose them; diving through stalls, stepping across beams, swinging under poles, climbing up baloustrades, leaping alleyways and finally swan-diving into a pile of hay whilst the guards run past shouting, "Where is he?!"

The game feels superbly balanced between fighting the guards and running away from them. Sometimes you'll get away, sometimes you'll have to fight them. More and more I'm finding I'm provoking guards out of choice just for fun. Whereas free-running never gets boring. It's great to set yourself a time limit to get across the city in less than a minute.

      Frozen: 5 times.

I get what you mean about the running around being normal, but it's just so intense all the different things you can do. When one of my frat brothers first got the game, all he did was run around while five other people watched him. It's just that cool.

The doing tricks and making huge jumps off tall buildings infront of a big growd and them saying "How did he do that? i can't do that".

An awesome game, just too repetitititive. If it had mission variety equivalent to GTA, it would have instantly been near the top of my favourite games list.

I haven't played many video games lately (relatively speaking), but I saw the trailer for this . . . and I'm strongly considering it. Especially reading all of the praise it's getting here. It seems pretty unique, and like someone else mentioned, has awesome music.

Outstanding graphics, environments, controls. Battle system good. It gets way too repetitive tho and if the assassinations were very different from eachother, it may have been on my to get list, I can just go to my freind's house and do a mission if I feel like it. Call of Duty 4, Oblivion: GoTY edition, Guitar Hero 3 (for PS3) and Super Mario Galaxy (best game ever) are must buys.
