Thread: Tell me what online game there is that could make your reaction speed go faster.

Firstly you assume we know what "speedcubing" is, which frankly I didn't. Thankfully wikipedia does. Now if I'm right "speedcubing" is solving a rubik's cube as quick as possible? The only way that's going to improve is if you repeat that over and over and over again. Likewise with the shorthand writing. They aren't really reactionary things. They're things you just have to practice to get good at.

But if you're really really desperate to improve reflex time for some godforsaken reason then you could do a lot worse than any of the Counter Strike series. That's twitch-gaming at it's finest. If you don't want to spend any money.

Woot! thx! Speedcubing means trying to solve the cube as fast as you can

and shorthand is a type of written languge that uses symbols to take place

of english words thus allowing you to write faster.

Could you explain to us how improving your reaction speed would allow you to solve a rubbik's cubes faster?

because when solving the cube, you will have to look at the pattern before figuring what to do next. improving the reaction speed means being able to read and react to the pattern faster.

for shorthand, you will have to listen to the speaker words and write them down. you will need speed to listen and then write it down

I still maintain that your results can only be acheived by practice and not by playing an online game that does not relate to the thinking involved in speedcubing or writing shorthand.

For example there is a lot more thought involved in analysing a pattern and responding to it as quickly as possible than pressing a button as soon as you see a stimulus.

There is a new cube called the Rubik's Revolution where it doesn't spin but instead has lights in the centers and has 6 different games that supposedly improve reaction time. Reminds me of games like Bop It which used to be so popular.

A good way to improve your reaction time is to practice your typing skills. I myself am a speedcuber.
