Isn't that the one about the people who have to go re-start the sun?

Great film, I'm surprised it didn't get a lot of media coverage.
The ending was spectacular and touching, and the film as a whole was very beautiful.
      The whole
      Spoiler for SPOILER:
plot line was unnecessary, although it was a refreshing change from the banality of "malfunctioning equipment" plot twists.

Yeah i've seen this a couple of times. Sweet movie.
I got some Event Horizon vibes from it, But this one felt alot more.. Polished? Sorry can't find the right word.
I loved the eerie kind of atmosphere this movie has. It's quite gripping. Great sci-fi thriller

Yes basically the sun is dying and this is humanity's last hope.

When I heard the plot summary I wasn't impressed at all. I'm not a huge fan of space movies or stuff like Armageden. But this movie is soooo much more.

I love the way they deal with death. Who lives, who dies. And more importantly, why. Responsibility. Priority. Using logic and reason. It really puts things into perspective, and actually makes you care about the future of humanity.

This movie deals with some truly deep issues. It's alot more than just some "save the earth" type of movie. It's beautiful.

      I highly recommend it.

Haha... I was kinda upset that no one responded to my thread. Oh well.

For my comments on the movie, see the above link.

In response to Ellis, I think that area of the plot was one of the things that made this movie so original- it was very unexpected.

I posted this one in the 'last movie' thread, but yeah, the movie was full of beautiful images. The way it handled death and duty was satisfying, but I really liked how it handled the characters' different ideas of beauty or transcendence.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
