I'd be careful about posting "confessions" about downloading this or that online if I were you. My cousin told me that the FBI came to his college and busted a few Limewire downloaders on campus. They downloaded music and shit. They gave them a fine of 5,000 dollars or so and a certain time that they had to pay it or else they'd go to jail.

I think the movie looks horrible.

It does look like its gonna suck, but I will see it.

well you have to take a few things into consideration,
how many of you laughed when ol' buddy brought up the idea of a "Live Action Transformers Movie" in Clerks 2?..Transformers was sick as hell.
Secondly, have you seen the movie The Invisible? Justin Chatwin is a really good actor, not to mention he looks just like Goku.
The director may not be completely true to the story, taking out Krillin and what-not..but look on the brightside, we've got the technology to pull off some bad ass DBZ fights thanks to the matrix trilogy.
Not to mention the movie is actually DragonBall,
i'm assuming DBZ will be the sequel.

I can't wait for the movie either but from what I've seen the movie has been standing on shaky ground with die hard fans. The below lists the reasons as to why:

Disclaimer: I have kept up with this movie for quite...a...while...the below do not necessarily express my views, just what I have witnessed in the online DB Live Action Movie community.

1. Goku is white - (upon the announcement of Justin Chatwin playing Goku, the internet was set on fire with anger because of this. Granted not everyone, but quite a few...thousand people were very upset by this. I'm assuming this is because Goku's race was always deemed as ambiguous or vague enough so no one race could claim him and the casting of Justin Chatwin to them was like throwing salt on a wound seeing as now it's official, Goku is white...ambiguous no more. People felt that his movie race should have stayed true to his anime race and therefore think the directors should have chosen someone of mixed ethnicity to play Goku, a Eurasian perhaps.)

2. Bulma's hair isn't blue! - (Aye, the fans had a hay day off this one. Once people realized Bulma's hair wasn't blue or a dark blue...they threw themselves into a fit as well. To add insult to injury...they gave Bulma a streak of blue hair like if they were taunting the die hard fans. They also do not like Bulma's catsuit like clothing seeing as she's being portrayed as a modern day Elektra or Lara Croft badass type...when nothing could be further from the truth.)

3. No Krillin - (THIS one sent the fans of the series expecting this movie to be good...into a "lock myself in my room for a week" phase. And I must admit...it rather disappointed me as well. Granted I understand why they chose not to add annoying ass anthropomorphic characters like Oolang, Puar and Chaoutzu...c'mon...this is Krillin. Could NO Shoalin monk take time out of their enlightenment classes to play him? Whose Frieza gonna kill so Goku can go super saiyan in the sequel? Fucking Yamcha?)

4. Yamcha has blonde hair! - (This wasn't a large source of disappointment for fans but it's still one that has mediocre life...but continues to live on. Yamcha, (unlike his anime counterpart) has blonde curly tips in the movie and is being played by a guy who in reality is almost 40 years old. The age thing doesn't really matter to me as long as the guy can pull off Yamcha...but why did they feel it necessary to give Yamcha blonde freaking tips? -sigh- NEXT)

5. Goku's hair does NOT defy gravity - (This is one that was mixed among the community. You seemed to be in the minority if you WANTED Goku's hair to defy gravity like it did in the anime. I however am glad they didn't make Goku look utterly ridiculous in a live action film by doing that. Only in cartoons can shit like that be pulled off)

6. Goku has brown hair and green eyes in this film!??! WTF!!?!??! - (Aye, I must admit...this one was like the directors walked up to every die hard fan and punched them in the stomach...or at least that's how some fans took it. I myself don't like that they did this. In Dragonball, it's well known that "ALL full-blooded saiyans" have jett black hair and black pupils since Vegeta said so early on in DBZ. In this film, Chatwin keeps his hair color and no contacts are used. Chatwin has brown hair and green eyes. My question is...when he goes super saiyan...wtf are his eyes going to change color too? Fucking orange?)

7. Goku in highschool? WTF?? - (Talk about a day of misery...Goku NEVER went to school...he was a cute naive and pretty much ignorant young boy who grew up going on journeys in the forests and cities etc...he never set foot inside a school, let alone...trying to get a diploma. Well in this dragonball? He is. Fans were outraged.)

8. Master Roshi has hair - (You read that right, master roshi, the loveable, perverted goof does not have sunglasses or a beard, but he has a full head of hair. Fans were more than upset about this one considering Master Roshi USED to have hair...but long before Goku was born. But nevertheless, long before Goku's 18th birthday Master Roshi was already bald, sporting his shades and his beard. In this film Goku is 18 and Master Roshi looks as he did as a student under Mutaito.)

9. Directors say Master Roshi will NOT be perverted - (Many fans were concerned whether the directors would butcher the Master Roshi we know and love make Master Roshi stay true to his anime counterpart. The director James Wong said, and I quote "We simply can't have that...he still kept his sense of humor but this is a family film".)

10. What have you done to Piccolo!? - (If you've kept up with DB and the leaked photos then you'd know that Piccolo isn't green, nor does he have antennae's...nor does he wear his purple garment and white cape with the turban. Piccolo is a pinkish/pale green - yellow in this film. However, I think it's important to remember Piccolo, in this film, is Daimo Piccolo...DBZ Piccolo's father so they might be blatantly trying to make him look different than the Piccolo we know and love. Just the same though...no antennae's? WTF???)

11. Eclipse leads to Oozaru, not the moon - (I'm actually pretty happy about this one seeing as it makes more sense than the nightly moon does. In the movie, ECLIPSES turn Goku into the beast otherwise known as Oozaru, NOT the nightly moon. So since he DOES go Oozaru in this film...will he have a tail? There's a lot of evidence pointing towards no, he won't. But we will have to wait and see.)

So with all that being said and done and taken in consideration...most fans are outraged about this film. I've literally witnessed some people who were hopefuls of this film and support it...literally go to states of "This IS going to suck...aw man...". The big conversion from "Give it a chance" to "Wow...this is horrible..." happened after the release of the Piccolo pictures.

i'll go ahead and number my responses according to what that article states.
1. In the original anime, goku was white. It's an AMERICAN movie, despite the fact the cartoon is Japanese so why would you pick someone of a different race? they're trying to get the look and feel of DB and make it a good movie, even if it means a different race. Didnt we do the same thing with BLADE? he wasnt originally black was he?
2.I actually agree with the bulma statement, to be honest.
3. I said something about Krillin not being in the movie earlier on, i totally disagree with this but that isnt a big factor,they could easily bring Krillin into the sequel.
4. Doesnt make a difference.
5. I agree with the author, Goku's hair looks fine the way it is in the movie, as quoted by the director "Chatwins hair was naturally crazy enough."..
I mean come on, were fans expecting plastic spiked hair?!
6. The casting agents werent worried about the color of eyes and and hair, that can easily be fixed. They want good actors, not duplicates.
7. I agree with this statement, Master Roshi should have been depicted more correctly.
8. Goku's full life and everyday's detail wasnt fully depicted in the show.
Unless theres proof that goku NEVER lived a day of normal life(even when he had amnesia).
9.I agree with the directors, it's a family film. I'm sure Roshi will have perverted lines, but he wont be AS perverted.
10. Lord Piccolo's makeup takes roughly 4-6 hours to complete...are you telling me that he wont look anything like he's supposed to?I disagree.
11. As Long as it happens, it happens. These days you hardly EVER see movies betrayed exactly as they were written or meant to be, I still have complete faith in this movie.
I doubted transformers and was completely surpised...along with Iron Man.
I can't wait for the movie, the fans shouldnt be so closed-minded on this subject..Be happy they're making a movie, they've yet to make The Legend Of Zelda and thats been around just as long if not longer than DragonBall.

Goku was NEVER white. He was racially ambiguous in the anime and Manga. An asian could have played him, a eurasian, or a white person. And to be more clear about this...white is a term associated to people of the Caucasian race. Goku (Not chatwin, we're talking about Goku) is NOT caucasian. Goku is just as much Caucasian as he is Asian, Black, Mexican, Indian etc. Once again, Caucasian is a human ethnicity, Saiyan's aren't human...this argument has been debunked countless times in the past.

I don't disagree with the casting of Chatwin as Goku, this post merely serves to correct your ridiculous notion that states "Goku was originally white".

What I said was not a ridiculous notion nor was it a double standard, an oxymoron or anything you'd like to recognize it as. Clearly you missed the part where I said it didn't matter to me what color Goku was. I was merely correcting you. And if you think that the term "white" can be attributed to any other ethnicity...please list them. Because last I checked...Caucasians are the only ones permissable to checkmark "White" on standardized tests.

Personally, I don't give a damn about the reasons stated why die-hard fans have a problem with the pending movie. My arguments are more along the lines of:

1) Ok. The Piccolo thing I will give credence to. Every Namekian in the dragonball universe (and I mean every one) has been green. There was absolutely no reason for them to change the way that King Piccolo looked. The antennae could have stayed, the skin color could have stayed. As far as how Piccolo is in the movie, I will reserve opinion until I actually see it.

2) The movie just looks like a low-budge knock-off. So far, from the stills that I've seen, it has no credible feel to it. It just looks like it was slapped together and then had the Dragonball name tacked on to it. It looks like such a deviation from the source material that it's almost a parody. Now, granted, I will accept that Dragonball was never 100% serious, and had many childish moments all through the epics, but what I've seen doesn't even look like a serious attempt to make anything other than a Power Rangers episode (note I didn't say "movie" but "episode"). Maybe it's just because production is still so far from finished, but I really hope they put it together better than it's looking now.

3) Justin Chatwin cast at the Greatest Martial Artist on the Planet (which, as we all know, Goku was)? I know that movie fighting is nothing but choreography, but there needs to be some sort of authenticity to the fighting in DB. It can't just look like a choreographed dance. Again, I will reserve true critique until I see the movie, but, as things look now, I'm not too excited.

4) My main saving grace, so far, is that the production crew (unless there have been some changes) is the group that did Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle. I have high hopes for the special effects, and hope that they can really show some DB-worthy fighting. DB fighting is larger than life so, even though Chatwin is no martial artist, I'm really counting on the effects time to fill in the gaps. I just hope they do it.

All in all, I just hope that they aren't going with a "playful, childish Dragonball) and are actually trying to make something that will appeal to those of "Dragonball age," meaning those that practically grew up with the show, and expect to see it executed with a certain level of seriousness.
