The Spirit, In Theatres December 25, 2008

Synopsis: Rookie cop Denny Colt returns from the beyond as The Spirit, a hero whose mission is to fight against the bad forces in Central City.

So I plan on going and seeing this movie tomorrow with a friend. Perhaps on acid even that would be a hoot. The movie looks fantastic and is created by the same person who did 300 and Sin City, two of the most spectacular pieces of film I've ever witnessed.

Just curious to see who else is planning on seeing this.

I'm really pissed that Frank Miller directed this movie himself (a first), I heard it really fucked it all up and that the dialogue was just thrown in and is complete trash compared to Sin City.

The reviews all say that there is just no order, and the actors obviously don't match well together (especially with "the spirit" who is a rough guy), and that most of the cast had to do little acting and just had to look pretty in scenes.

I don't know, I hope its not as much of a bumber as it is written out to be in every review I've read (even the ones that sort of liked it).

I will most definitely see this movie, but damn!

I just saw it tonight. And it had some humor...but it usually wasn't funny in that sense. It was more funny at how bad the movie was. The dialogue is truly an embarrassment, I mean it just not stop!

Every scene a very boyish pissy fit or fight breaks out with really...just some of the worst dialogue and most embarrassing acting.

This movie is for kids. I don't know how else to describe it other than "Did I just watch a kids movie?"

Not to mention, the plot unwinds like a Saturday morning cartoon and the time it takes is soooo long, boring, and utterly stupid.

I even slept through a quarter of the movie.

This movie sucked. I hated it.

On a seperate note, why do you keep making threads that say..

"MOVIE TITLE, IN THEATRES MOVIE RELEASE DATE, MOVIE RELEASE YEAR".

Why not make one thread and reduce the clutter. That is, if you're going to be making several threads for one distinct purpose, to talk about movies.

yeah, honestly. The guy didn't seem to care what I said about it. Maybe he's a payed advertiser.

Who the hell cares how many threads there are about movies as long as they're different ? That would be incredibly cluttered.

On topic - looked bad. It looked like a sin city rip off when I saw the trailer, then I realized it was a Frank Miller film. Movies like this are destined to fail.

Because it's only for movies that I thought to be interesting while they are coming out. And the topic title gives a perfect description of what the movie is and when it's coming out so you know if you can go see it yet or not. Seeing how this is the entertainment section and the only likely section to put such things having 1 thread per topic I thought to be a suitable choice.

Your quite right I could care less what you had to say about the movie I just wanted to get the word out about this specific movie. And then come back from time to time to see what other people had to say about it.

And seriously what kind of reply did you want me to give you cool? That's just spamming when a post reaches such a low point.
