Which Xbox 360 should I buy?

If I were to buy one, which one? There are so many different kinds! There are different gigabytes/storage capability, different types like the ‘Core' and the ‘Pro’ and all of that, there’s bundles, there’s ones that come with Xbox Live subscriptions, there’s ‘Old Versions’…

Wtf?! Could you please make it a bit more complicated for me, Microsoft???

What should I get if I don’t want to spend a ton (I’m still willing to pay a bit more for better stuff, though) and want a good system?

And should I get one that comes with Xbox Live, or should I buy a subscription separately? What’s better value?

      ARGAGGGH!!!*Shoots self in head* BANG!

I've got a 120 gb Premium. I suggest this or who could pay a bit extra for the elite.

But I don't see the point in paying extra for a different paint job.

Defiently get Xbox Live. I've got it and it makes gaming experience much more fun.

      Thanks a bundle!

I'll take all of that into consideration.

EDIT: Wait a minute... I thought that Premiums (aka Pros) only came with 60 GB, and in order to get 120, one would have to purchase the Elite. Nvm you must have bought the 120 GB HD separately. D'oh.

But 100 bucks more for 60 more GB (Premium vs. Elite)? Damn!

PS3 isn't all that straight and narrow either, they have a huge variety as well.

      - Make sure you get a 360 that ALREADY HAS a hard drive attached to it (arcade versions don't...preferably a 90 GB)

      - Don't get bundles, they're just ripoffs

Do that and you should be fine.

Just get a new one with a hard drive attached.

I have 60GB and it's fine. Good balance of price vs size.

Anyway, do you really need a 360 if you can't play M games? That stops you playing a load of decent games.

Wait to buy a 360... IINM they fixed the RRoD hardware problem for good and are soon gonna release the fixed versions.

If not, get an Elite 60... it's worth it.

Well yeah, but if I get a 360 too, I'd bet that I can convince my dad to let me get a bunch.

Part of my asking to get a 360 too is asking to play M games, if you know what I mean.

EDIT: Elis D, when are the fixed ones gonna be released? How soon is soon? And yeah I'm gonna get Xbox Live.

EDIT EDIT: Elis, apparently they already fixed the overheating problem. It's no longer an issue. When Microsoft came out with the Elite, they redid their heat syncs to help eliminate the overheating problem. Since then they've been manufacturing all three models with a new heat sync, and they've now also installed into new 360s a smaller (and thus cooler running) CPU. Ever since they made these changes, I don't think there's been any reported overheating problems.

If there is a "don't buy any" option - i would suggest going with that one

Get the "pro" version, and I think they all come with a free month of Live.
