Angry The Sims 3 company is selfish

Any other sims fans out there upset about The Sims 3 delay? I sure am. The week before it was supposed to come out I became totally upsessed. I've had dreams that have involved it. It was supposed to come out on Feb. 20, but they delayed it to June 2. The biggest reason for that is because they want $. That's the bottom line for it. For those of you who don't know what it is it's a simulation game where you can control virtual people. It's better than the first and second because of the open world neighborhood (loading scenes), better create a style and have way better personalities. I was so sad about the delay that I cried for like 15 min.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

Usually the delay of a video game is a good thing. That means they're fixing any bugs that it would have been released with.

Also you cried over a video game release date?! You need to go outside more often or something. Realize that there's much more to life than the Sims.

I know, it's sad, but I read that they delayed it because they wanted to advertise it more, so that's why they are selfish.

The biggest reason for that is because they want $. That's the bottom line for it.
Because the world doesn't revolve around money, amirite?*

      * SPOILERS: It does! And how do you think a delay will cause them to make more money? All it's gonna do is disappoint overly excited people like you, who - because they're so overly excited - will buy the game anyway. Sux2bu.

      EDIT
I'd like to add that EA is known for milking out all of their games to the max. A pretty high-up has even been quoted saying something along the lines of "We'd rather make low-quality games that sell well than high-quality games that hardly sell" (hypothetically). Though I disagree with you that this particular delay is because they want more money (delays usually mean (extremely) necessary bug fixes, if they'd let those in people like you would whine about that too, probably). I mean, look at the Sims (oh wow, the links! they're all over the place!), every game in the series has over nine thousand useless expansions. I mean, IKEA furniture expansion? SERIOUSLY, EA?

Do you mean that sarcastically or seriously? People are disapointed by it. They should get the release date right from the start. They wanna advertise it more, which will give them more $ and they weren't satisfied with how many people preordered it.

Do I mean that sarcastically or seriously, is that a serious question? I know sarcasm can be hard to detect on the internet, but this was way too obvious. I even added "amirite" :c

And yes. People are disappointed, boo-hoo, it's a game, it's not the end of the world.

The point is that they can't, luciddreamsavy. I also highly doubt delaying the game would increase sales.

EA has always been selfish. After the gargantuan disappointment that was Spore, I'm thinking I'm going to make it a priority to pirate any EA game that I want to play, even if I would normally buy it instead. EA is just way too greedy. It's not that they make shitty games, it's just that they deprive these games of content, then create more content to sell to you that should have been released in the original. Just look at Mirror's edge. 60$ game only lasted 3 hours then there was nothing left unless you purchase their DLC packs. EA is just way too greedy. You can't trust them.

Why would this surprise anyone? Companies are made to make money and they have an obligation to their stock holders to make as much money as they can. This is how basically all companies work, and if companies try to make it seem like they actually care about you, then that is just another marketing ploy. It's called capitalism guys...

You can keep quoting yourself with the exact same post, but you got your point across. You knew it was sad but you still posted it. And then you went on about the sales and how delaying it was because they wanted more money and that was the idiotic part we're all replying to.

lolwut? It is part of your point that they can't make a definite release date but you just said that you thought they should just make a definite release date.

You also said that they wanted to advertise to increase sales. I stated my opinion that I didn't think delaying a product would increase sales (though I could be wrong). Then you stated that what I just said was a part of your point, yet you stated before that that you believed the exact opposite.

No. You can't just tell people to only post what you want to hear. That's not how the world works.

You're complaining about how EA has delayed the release date and how you think that's stupid (that's point one, which is totally not what I was replying to). Then you posted how you knew/thought that this was because they just wanted more, and I quote, "$" (it's real hard to spell it out, amirite?). Then we reply, and if you would've been right I would've gladly said "Oh yeah you're totally right, that sucks, they're such capitalistic bastards" etc etc, but you were saying something that had some signs of idiocy. Thus I reply with how I think you're wrong; then you reply with a quote of yourself which is totally beside the point, I point to that fact, you cry and you tell me to no longer post unless I have something positive to say.

If you can't handle being corrected because you say stuff that isn't right, you shouldn't make threads. Way to go.

Why don't you guys talk about how much you hate me, because I was upsessed over a game for a while, not anymore (I still want it and stuff, just not as badly) I was waiting for it since Nov. But I wasn't upsessed with it then. I know. You probably want to say something bad about this post. Go ahead I don't care. You guys are just proving to me that you're real jerks. I haven't talked about sims 3 for a while till here, I thought that some sims fans would sympathize with me, but I was wrong.

Nope. I'm not going to talk about how much I hate you because you're obsessed with a game, because I don't, nor will I say anything bad about your post for it wasn't bad. I criticize idiocy and ignorance, I do not unleash my wrath (haha) on people for no reason.

You were simply saying something erroneous and I replied to that. No personal offense to you whatsoever.

I'm sorry, but you must have a pretty low standard of "hate" if you think that's true.
Please stay on topic. I never really got into sims 2, I was more of a sims 2000 guy.

While we don't like the pushed back release date, it should be out of the question whether or not it was a choice. If they had to hold it back for a real reason, it was most likely to fix a major bug or something. I doubt they actually wanted to hold back the release date.

No one here hates you... we're just all very opinionated, outspoken, and sometimes lacking tact

For those who may not know, sometimes people cry out of shear frustration not because their world is ending or they're about to slit their wrists. Usually, when I cry, it's because I'm so ANGRY I'm about to explode. Extreme frustation brings tears to my eyes too, and I don't cry easily nor openly.
While I don't think I've cried because a game wasn't released on time, I HAVE cried because a game I paid good money for suddenly stops working

I gave up on SIMS a long time ago. I love it and miss it dearly but it refuses to work on my Vista.

And WHO said Spore was a huge disappointment lol?! I LOVE Spore!
I HATE the EA downloader though which NEVER works. I have to go to >My Computer >C Drive >Programs >EA >Spore (or whatever else I'm playing) to get it to load.

And while my spelling is FAR from perfect, you're not upsessed, you were "obsessed".

I HATE the EA downloader though which NEVER works. I have to go to >My Computer >C Drive >Programs >EA >Spore (or whatever else I'm playing) to get it to load.

And while my spelling is FAR from perfect, you're not upsessed, you were "obsessed".
To be completely honest, Spore was a huge disappointment. They hyped it up so bad, told people that it was practically infinite due to the already huuuuge galaxy, then the downloadable content. However, the game turned out to be an extremely awesome concept worked out not-so-extremely-awesome. It might've not been extremely bad to most (though I was so excited for the game and had my hopes up so high, to me it was), it was not even remotely as good as it could've been. That's not to say there aren't people that like it. The concept is still great and if you can live with the flawed camera and superficiality of the game, then I'm sure you can play it for days. I had enough of it after the tribal phase the very first day.
