      Smallville

Good, psychological episode on now, about Clark being stuck in Lex's mind.

Honestly, I didn't know that show was still on the air.

      I watch it occasionally.
That episode sounds like it would have been a good one to watch. Too bad I missed it.

Does anyone still watch this show and want to talk about it? It's been a long run, but it still garners ratings (apparently)

probably a lot from people like me. People who, because we stuck by it in the beginning, have to see it til the end. No matter how many times they essentially rape/abuse the comics continuity.

So yeahhhhh... any thoughts on this past season 8? All the Doomsday stuff?

I'm kind of on the fence about it. I don't like how they did Doomsday. I mean the costume just looks sooo horrible. But there has been a lot of good drama going on, throughout the whole ordeal, and Clark is really starting to man-up on a couple of things. Despite a bit of cheese here and there, it's still enough to keep me somewhat interested.

      Tess is a fox, btw.

I would do unspeakable things to Tess Mercer. Fo serious.

But yeah, like O said, it's still engaging enough to watch, and now that Clark is finally maturing, I'm digging it more.

I liked this past season WAAAAYYY more than seasons 6 & 7 too. And that whole "Lana" period. So glad she's gone, although it's a shame to have lost such a specimen of hotness.

I'm going to blow up Vancouver so this show will never air again. I stopped watching after season 6 because it was the same old same old same old shit again. I recently watched an episode because I was waiting for the Office to come on a live streaming site...And it's still the same old tricks.

This show is a drama/soap with a veil of comic-book-ness

I used to watch Smallville, and only because I saw Kristen Kreuk (didn't know her name at the time) on an episode preview and said to myself "I gotta watch this show!"

the show turned out to be pretty good, however. Started off season 1, and probably lost interest by season 3. The story didn't seem to be moving fast enough for my taste. Every episode went by this formula....

      1) villain appears
      2) destroy or neutralize villain
      3) rinse, repeat

didn't mind it at first, but eventually it got pretty old.

and the romance between clark and lana was taking too painfully long for my boner to stay.

Smallville just went totally to shit. It's like the writers just quit trying. It makes absolutely no sense anymore, contradicts itself every episode now, the characters have been royally —ed up by whoever is writing them, and despite what looked as if it might be Clark finally manning up and growing balls and common sense, that still hasn't happened—he's still a —ing moron.

It just went to shit. I can't stand to watch it anymore. They just drag things out way too far, far beyond any semblance of realism, like a soap opera as mentioned above. In the last half of this season, somebody must've just got high and said, "Hey, let's write some episodes stoned out of our minds, that'll be cool!" It disgusts me.

Every episode still follows the same damn formula, too. No originality whatsoever. The only originality is in how they've —ed up the characters, making them do stuff they never would have done, in character. And ANYTIME something goes wrong, like somebody dies, or finds out Clark's 'secret', Clark just 'rewinds' either through Jor-El or that idiotic ring from the future Justice League wannabes, and makes it all better, usually putting himself back in the same crud he was in to begin with. I mean, get real!
