Just talking with a friend and this topic came up so I decided to post it here. I haven't really played a lot of different games in the past year, but I've played a few through throughly. I'm currently trying to master Ninja Gaiden Black, possibly the hardest game I've ever played.

Off and on over the past year and a half I've played (some replays):

Super Smash 64 (Really good with Ness and Pikachu)
Mario Cart 64 (Learned how to power slide lol)
Zelda OoT (A long time favoriate I can actually beat this entire game in 6 hours)
Metal Gear Solid 2 (Short game, played it on normal I think)
Metal Gear Solid 3 (Beat it on Euro Extreme)
Silent Hill 4: The Room (Totally got owned, worst ending and everything =P)
C&C Generals & Zero Hour (Play a few online tournaments so I'm decent)
Shadow of the Collosus (Amazing game, a bit easy mechanically, only beat it once)
Halo 1 & 2 (Amazing games once again, beat both on Legendary, found all the good glitches/tricks, got some of the skulls, played online with XBC for a month)
Ninja Gaiden Black (Newest game, had this for a month now, beaten story and most of missions on Master)

everquest 2: fun and addicting game. i'm not like those people who are insane and stay up til 3 in the morning playing, but i would like to hit level 70 for the new expansion.

counter-strike: source: awesome game. alos, very addicting. i play it with a few friends from school, but usually never by myself.

C&C TS? Old school lol.

Hey Keeper you any good at Starcraft? My friends want me to play them so I'm installing it but I have no idea how to play it. I'm fairly good with other RTS. Just need to know what are the hit/run tactics and unit specialties.

Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX I've played this year. As well as Medievil and Sheep.

I just bought Doom on live arcade, most fun I've had in ages.

I've also played Oblivion and Giants: Citizen Kabuto this year.

Alright, here's my list:

NBA Jam (For SNES...pretty old-school, but it's kind of addicting, so when one of my roommates brought up a SNES...)
Halo (and a little Halo 2, but I liked the mulitplayer of the first one better.)
Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna
Diablo II
Super Smash 64 (Yeah, I LOVE that game. I'm pretty good at Pikachu, too--my favorite thing is to thunder-strafe: Jump over somebody and use thunder at the same time, and the thunder misses you and goes straight down into them. Does pretty good damage, and you can hit people who hide in awkward spots)
Jet Force Gemni (Another 64 game--a 64 and a SNES are all we really play in the dorms, even though we have two XBoxes and a Gamecube)
James Bond Goldeneye (Yup, the 64 version)
Age of Mythology
Age of Empires III

Hmmm. Despite the fact that I have essays and exams, I'm still playiong the occiaional game:

Silent Hunter III, my favfourite (World War II Nazi submarine simulator, heavily modded with historical accuracy mods) A BRILLIANT game if you have the patience to learn geometry, cartography, and a bunch of other mathematical stuff to plot torpedo solutions and courses manually. VERY satisfying when you get a hit.

Rome: Total War (again, heavily modded with historical accuracy mods)

The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (A good game, but to be honest, I got a LITTLE bored of it. Plus, it takes some seriously heavy hardware to run on decent graphics settings)

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne (I'm replaying this even though it's an old game)

The Sims 2 (Shoot me, I don't care, it's a fun game every now and then)

Galactic Civilisations II (The best turn-based strategy game I've played in a while, bgesides the Total War series. Pity it didn't gwet much publicity)

Evil Genius (this is an incredibly fun game... sort of like James Bond meets Austin Powers meets Dungeon Keeper)

And, the number One game I've been waiting for for over a year, which I will buy as soon as it hits the shelves:
Medieval II: Total War

boo-yah! It's gonna be awesome!

(In case you haven't figured it out by now, I'm a massive history junkie, especially medieval history)

Hey, TBM, check out 688(i) Hunter/Killer. It's a sub simulator based around the Los Angeles 688(i) class of US submarines, and it's really good. Involves a lot of math, strategy and good instincts. I've always loved sub games...I'll have to try that one of yours.
688(i) does require a few mods to make it an accurate simulator, but it's definitely worth a play or two. Could be hard finding it, though...I only have it because my aunt gave it to me for a birthday six or seven years ago.

EDIT: And Evil Genius was a great game, kind of sad it was never extremely popular. I loved it, though my computer couldn't quite handle it.

After a year of exploring every character with my friends, we've come to the conclusion that Pikachus is unbeatable. Do the sideways+R shock and immediately follow into a reverse grab. Use light up+A to knock them up and do a thunder while they're above me. Edge-guard with throws and the super-cheap smash+A attack. If you get that down it's literally impossible to lose in a 1v1.

I love the Total War games too, unfortunately my PC can't cope with Rome: Total War so I'm playing some Shogun at the moment. Old school. Didn't know they were releasing another Medieval one, awesome.

Heh. Shogun.

But, medieval 2: Total War is gonna be awesome. I HIGHLY reccommend upgrading or getting a new computer, just for M2:TW. I'm thinking of upgrading my own computer, actually... I probably won't for a while, though. I CAN run M2:TW. I've tried the demo. but, I have to set the graphics settings on "Medium", is all.

I can't run it.

When I'm not a poor college bastard, I'll build my SUPA COMPUTA ™ and get the game. When I get around to it.
