I've been getting questions about this game so I figured I should make a thread about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FY3-JH_AmE&feature=fvst HoN is an RTS game very similar to DotA (Defense of the Ancients). DotA is played using the Warcraft 3 engine whereas HoN is it's own game. Some of the changes in HoN are: -A few new heroes. -A few new items. -Built in voice chat -Some improved gameplay features like visible cooldown on spells and items, improved hotkeys for spells. Gameplay Each game of Heroes of Newerth pits two teams of 1 to 5 players, called the Legion and Hellbourne, against each other. Each player selects a single hero to play from a pool of sixty, via one of several selection rotations. During the match, heroes will gain experience and gold by destroying enemy NPC units, players or structures, and customize their character with skills and items as the game progresses. Gameplay consists of heroes attacking/defending NPCs in a "lane" - a pre-defined pathway from one base to the other that the AI-controlled NPCs follow - to gain experience and gold advantage over the other team, while concurrently attempting to kill opposing heroes and avoid being killed themselves, to respawn a short time later in their own base. A game ends either when one of the teams' main structure is destroyed - either the World Tree for the Legion, or the Sacrifical Pit of the Hellbourne. A team may also concede at any point beyond fifteen minutes into the match. The game is right now only out as a beta version, so it's free to play as long as you have a beta key. Beta keys can be obtained in different ways. If you have a friend that plays HoN on a pre-paid account (this game will cost a one time fee of 30USD when it's released), he/she will have the possiblity of handing out 3 beta keys. You can also register on the alienware website for a beta key. They run out of keys all the time so go on the site everyday and check if there are any new ones. There are already 3 players from DV playing this game and it would be cool if we could get a few more to play it. So far it's me, Hidden, and Kangaxx.

Yes, there is a practice mode, which can be either single player or multiplayer. Just make a new game and... ehh, you're smart. You'll figure it out.
