Weather you don't believe it, do believe it, or whatever, what are all the 2012 predictions? I don't believe it but there are SOOOO much different predictiions as too what will happen that i wanna know -.-

The 'predictions' are so vague and disparate, virtually anything that happens next year will be held up as 'evidence'. Earthquake: evidence. A war breaks out: evidence. A war ends: evidence. HIV cured: evidence. Supervirus breaks out: evidence. Obama not reelected: evidence. Obama reelected: evidence.

As for what I believe? I believe the Mayan, the Hopi, and my teacher's prophecies. I would also like it if the enlightened aliens intervened, but I will wait and see before saying I believe in it or not. The Tibetans have a great track record.

Indeed, why do you think this was the word of the Mayans? From what I've heard they didn't think anything transformative was going to happen at all, it's just a calendar.

I've read about a lot of 2012 predictions. Among them are a magnetic pole shift (this one in particular I don't find too unreasonable, but there's no reason why it would happen in 2012) possibly caused by a giant solar flare, knocking out all of our satellites and technology, the antichrist, the Jewish New World Order (not joking; look up the Joy of Satan cult), the reptilian NWO, Nibiru, the arrival of the Anunnaki, the rapture, global consciousness, an earthwide DMT trip, ascension into a higher 'dimension', and a planet-wide war over humanity between intergalactic aliens and super-advanced evil shapeshifting reptilian entities.
Fuck it, I might as well just start my own cult. This shit is just too damn easy.

The magnetic shift is actually a very reasonable scenario. As far as the Earth's magnetic sphere, it is getting weaker every weak and it looks crazy. Shit, there is a website that has the current map of the magnetic sphere on it. Also, the sun is acting up, and the Sun's solar flares are affecting the Earth's magnetic sphere. Every 12 years the Sun's magnetic poles flip sending out tons of radioactive magnetic solar wind. There is a bunch headed this way right now scheduled to arrive May 1st. We are due for a pole shift, in fact it has been shifting all the time but it has been shifting more rapidly and dramatically lately. The solar storm of 2012 is supposed to be very big. And the Earth's magnetic sphere is supposed to be the weakest. I hate how in that 2012 movie they made it so that the whole Earth moved around so that the geographical poles were in different places. I didn't say that I thought this, I just relayed what the Hopi Elders have told me. Hopi Elders are not New Agers. The first 4 worlds were mineral, vegetable, protozoa, and animal as far as I can tell. They don't really mention the fungi. Knowing how they think is more important than knowing what they think. I am working on it right now spending time with them and learning from them. What makes them more special than Africans? I don't know the flaming space lion that you talk about, and I think that you are serious but could be kidding, what tribe is this? I am not hanging out with tribal Africans so I am not qualified to even offer an explanation. But as far as the Mayans go, they have mapped out every pole reversal that happened before them until now and that is verified. Tribal Africans were not the same as the Egyptians, and the American Indian tribes are different also. The Mayans had a technology on par with the Egyptians, and the Hopis also. The Hopis were the original tribe that all the other tribes broke off of when they left to not fulfill the Hopi prophecy. The Mayans did fulfill the Hopi prophecy though by being the "Keepers of the Cycles" in the South. All the Native Americans revere the Mayans and looked to them for their understanding of time and calendars. The Mayans predicted the Spanish invasion of Cortez. I don't know how they do this. I am just saying.... So there are many Earth based tribes of people with indigenous knowledge that they got from dreaming about herbs and food and medicine. Then there are the other cultures with non-indigenous culture, that have knowledge about writing, advanced math and astronomy etc. like the Egyptians and the Mayans and the ancient Hindus. The Greek culture got its knowledge of math, philosophy, logic, etc. from India and Egypt. It was the Greeks who lived in India who came back and started the whole Greek philosophy thing as opposed to the Olympian Gods mythology. The whole debate is how do these people think? We cannot take them literally,because they do not think like we do, but they do have knowledge about how the world works that we do not understand. Hanging out with Hopis in their ceremonies and talking with them one sees crazy shit and has respect for these people. But they think different than us and so we can either be like an anthropologist that has preconceived ideas that these people don't know what they are talking about, or we can have respect for them and learn what they are thinking.
I believe that the Hopis and the Mayans know something that we don't know, because I hang out with them and they do know things that we don't. Not every Hopi or every Mayan, but the ones who are old and keep the knowledge of their roots. But there are lots of people who know things that we don't know.
I don't think that in that in 2013 things will be much different than they are today.
As far as the solar flares though: the Earthquakes in New Zealand and Japan happened when massive solar flares reached the Earth. The Earth's magnetic sphere is very intimate with plate tectonics as we know. Has anyone been following the solar activity lately? It is quite amazing really especially since mid December.

Of course we live in a modern world and there is no room for these Elders and their knowledge anymore, to folks on the internet at least, or so it seems. But these folks still live and keep their culture alive and are willing to share it with people who care and their culture is rich and amazing. Having only been to Morocco and Mali and not anywhere else in Africa I have not met any culture comparable to the Native Americans.
If indeed the sun is sending out more powerful solar flares, there's really no reason to believe that 2012 is the year that they will all of a sudden destroy the majority of our technology. Any speculations about 2012 being the year for any type of catastrophic phenomenon is most likely stemming from the hype surrounding 2012. With respect to Mr. Kaku, although he is a respectable dumb-it-down physicist, his 2012 predictions are as good as anybody's. Well, the hype is a bunch of bullshit. I don't mean to be spreading rumors of catastrophe. But the solar flares will peak in 2012. Just a coincidence maybe. The DMT thing is a real stretch. But it is conceivable, at least to me. Since the pineal gland is very sensitive to electro-magnetics. But there is much wrong with that theory. There are catastrophes happening all the time, so I don't think that it is right to predict that nothing catastrophic will happen in 2012. But doomsday? No.
I think that Michio Kaku is more qualified to speak about solar flares than the average person on these forums. It is very likely that something will happen in 2012 because stuff happens all the time. Nobody will give you their Earthly possessions though.
If the poles flip, that will be amazing, as they are now, they are only shifting. We had three magnetic north poles for two months this past winter. Strangely, the solar storm seemed to set it right again. Sometimes the solar storms strengthen the Earth's magnetic field but mostly they weaken it.
I don't know about earthquakes and aliens. I doubt ANY of that is going to happen.
I believe 2012 is all about humans realizing the power of prayer/belief/visualization and intuition to manifest things and circumstances in the physical. I don't want to go to far into this because this is in
extended discussion...but yea. There is a higher consciousness that you can tap into that can provide everything you need Inner-Peace, well-being, health, abundance, wealth, unlimited creativity, and all you have to do is wake-up and stay present.
I'm pretty sure the same thing is going to happen that people ranted and raved about for the turn of the new millennium. Precession is the only ideal event that would transpire based off what we are currently noticing.

Well, who cares if the Sun flips again? it flips every 11 years so why should should the next flip be any different?
The solar cycle of 2012 is more significant than any other for several reasons:
1. During this time the two biggest planets in our solar system, Saturn and Jupiter, will be in line with each other. The gravitational effects of the two planets on the Sun will cause it to wobble during it's pole shift. This can have huge effects on the magnitude of the CME's the Sun will be tossing into space. The Earth regularly gets hit with small CME's and research says that the increased magnitude of these CME's are one of the major causes of global warming, and changes in the ecosystem.
2. Right now the Sun's south magnetic pole is in line with the Earth's north magnetic pole. Since opposites attract, the Sun, along with it's gravitational influence from Saturn and Jupiter, may cause the Earth to switch magnetic poles too! With the magnetic field of the Earth switching in a matter of minutes, there can be huge disruptions in the Earth's geological and ecological system. It can cause mass earthquakes and volcano eruptions all over the world. After it's all done, compasses will point South, the Sun will rise in the West and set in the East. But remember, this is a magnetic switch only.
3. The most far fetched possibility and probably the most catastrophic is the phenomenon called "polar wander". Polar wander is a result of the Earth's outer crust shifting at a rapid rate. The magnetic poles stay put but Antarctica becomes the equator and the tropics become the North Pole. I really don't have to stress why a polar wander could be catastrophic because if you picture a phenomenon like this happening in a matter of minutes, you can understand why. There is evidence of a polar wander occurring before in the distant past due to the fossils of Coral in Greenland and Woolly Mammoth bones found in Central America. Of course, in order for a polar wander to occur, it would take a huge amount of imbalance, like an asteroid collision, in the Earth to trigger it.
4. The final event that will occur on December 21, 2012 will be at 11:12 GMT. It's a phenomenon that the Mayans referred to as the "Sacred Tree" and it happens every 25,800 years. At that time our Sun will line up directly with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. For thousands of years, our solar system has been hovering around the top of the galactic plane and this galactic alignment could have huge effects on our solar system.
"The ecliptic cross over the Milky Way at a 60 degree angle near the constellation Sagittarius. As such, it forms a cross with the Milky Way, and this cosmic cross was called the Sacred Tree by the ancient Maya. (The cross form was also known as the "crossroads." Amazingly, the center of this cosmic cross, that is right where the ecliptic crosses over the Milky Way is exactly where the December solstice sun will be in A.D. 2012. This alignment occurs only once every 25,800 years."
There is supposedly a black hole in the middle of the Milky Way holding everything together. Our solar system is around the outer edge of the disc. When our solar system lines up with center of the galaxy, we will be at the strongest part of the galaxy's magnetic field where there is maximum gravitation. So, with the Sun's solar cycle being at it's maximum, the alignment of Saturn and Jupiter, and the alignment of the sun with the equator of the Milky Way, this will REALLY cause an increase in the magnitude of the Sun's solar flares. Of course the gravitational complexities will also have an influence on whether or not the Earth will undergo a magnetic pole shift. There is also speculation that the Earth may reverse its rotation since we'll be in the opposite hemisphere of the galaxy!

There are a lot of questions that will be answered in the year 2012. Although the Mayan calender has a mystery on a specific date, some of the scientific complexities will gradually become observable. Depletion of the ozone, increase in volcanic activity, and changes in weather patterns are all natural results of some of the events explained. However, whether or not the Mayans had some sort of insight into the future will remain a mystery.

The sun always wobbles around the center of mass of the solar system. Most of the time the center of mass of the solar system is outside the sun, so the sun orbits it. The Mayans new this and most astronomers to this day don't know this. i am glad that you guys are talking about this. As the planets align in different ways the sun wobbles in different ways. It is interesting to me how you guys are calculating the gravitational pull on the sun from different planets. Cool. It would be nice to see a list of order of gravitational pull from most to least. I also would like to see a time-lapse computer simulation of the sun's wobble and the orbits of the planets, calculating the gravitational effect on the Earth, or each planet, but namely the Earth from moment to moment.

The planets are almost always in different areas around the sun, I could understand if they were all lined up they would have a tiny pull on the sun.
But as it is 99.99% of the time, they have a negligible effect. i.e They aren't going to effect the "wobble" of the Sun.
yes. the sun wobbles as it orbits around the gravitational mass center of the solar system. you may not think that it is significant, but it does nonetheless.
Some know it. But ask an astronomer. 8 times out of 10 they don't know it. Guarantied. It makes complete sense though. But that is NOT how they determine if there are planets orbiting a star. It makes sense that you wou.d say that, but the center of mass is usually not because of the existence of planets. The Mayans and the Greeks and the Egyptians and the Indians, and maybe the Chinese, knew that the Earth orbits the Sun, they just used the geo-centric model for astrological purposes. In the Mayan long-count calender the wobble of the sun is mapped out exactly day by day. This is what the whole tonal system is in their astrology. Although people have known that the Earth orbits the sun, it isn't practical for astrological purposes to map it that way. The Christians in the dark ages suppressed this knowledge.
As for the Mayans calling planets stars, semantics lost in translation. They did this all without telescopes. So did the Greeks. So did the Egyptians and the Indians. The Eskimos have 100 words for snow. We know that there are different kinds of snows, but we just call it 'snow'. The Mayans knew that the Sun was different than the Moon. It can be forgiven if people call some asteroids 'planets', even Pluto is no longer a planet, but if we call it a planet that doesn't mean that we are ignorant. It is just a word. The word translated to 'star' may literally mean 'celestial body' for all we know. The Mayans knew there was gravity. Sure, they didn't have Newton's law, but they observed the Sun's wobble and apparently figured it out via some unknown science. It is all mapped out in the tonal. Day by day. The evidence that they knew this is right there on their calendar. They used this information to predict the weather. Their calendar was also a weather forecast! I wonder if you guys have actually looked at their calendars. They had many, not just the one that we are talking about here. These different calendars served different purposes. The ones that the average people used was very basic, but still much more sophisticated than our modern one.
I saw a video on google videos of an astronomy conference that took place in 2001 and an astronomer from Hawaii was claiming that the sun wobbled and he had a slideshow showing how it does it. Apparently he was the one who discovered this. I agree that it makes sense that everybody should know this, and maybe now everybody does. The wobble of the sun also affects the orbit of the Earth, it is all interconnected, of course.
Edit: apparently they do measure the wobble of stars to determine if there are planets around them, but many times they are wrong and find only asteroids or 'planetoids'. This may also be semantics.
I'm still waiting for some sort of citation that claims "most astronomers do not know stars wobble."

Have you actually looked at the calendar yet? The solar wobble is mapped on it directly daily. This is the historical evidence that the Mayans knew about the solar wobble. Anyway, I am not an expert on the Mayan Calendar and only know a little bit about it so I am not too interested in it beyond curiosity. But at least I have seen it and talked to Mayan elders about it so they could explain it to me. I recommend that if you want to know if Mayans knew about solar wobble look at it yourself. You may need someone to decipher the glyphs for you, but the top three glyphs represent the solar wobble as an axis in three dimensions.

No, I am talking about the actual calendar they have used for thousands of years. I haven't watched any youtube videos or any websites about it. The actual calendar was made before youtube was around, before there were websites, and before white man came after the decline of their civilization. This is a historical document. My feeling is that all astrology is based off the solar wobble, at least tropical zodiac. However, the Mayan calendar has nothing to do with other astrologies.

But all you keep doing is saying it; you're providing no historical evidence at all that this is true, indeed no apparent awareness of any knowledge about the Mayans beyond assertions you've heard from other people. We knew neolithic cultures were aware of the equinoxes due to the stone monuments they left which align with them. We know various bronze age cultures were aware of 'wandering stars' due to written records, diagrams predicting their movements, etcetera. I'm asking for just one piece of good evidence of the Mayans' knowledge of the phenomenon of the star's wobble.
Indeed I can't find anything about it. In fact, the first thing that comes up when I google it is this thread. They apparently tracked the Venus cycle, which was on a calendar. It also appears that they didn't have all the information for the things you mentioned on one calendar.
They had several different calendars with different things on them. But nothing about a sun wobbling that I can see.
IMO they would have had to have had a few Rainmans living in their day to be able to realise that. They would've needed to know the size and mass of the planets near the sun, which I don't think they did,
and then they would have needed to figure out what effect that would have on the sun. Which, as I pointed out earlier, is insignificant; tiny, miniscule.

I think that none of you have actually studied the Mayan calendar and are underestimating the complexity of it. It isn't 'just a calendar' like we know of. It is maybe about as hard to understand as the theory of relativity so I don't pretend to understand it. It is mostly a bunch of Greek to me.

These are arranged in all different combinations along with their numbering system to represent the solar wobble. See how they are in groups of three? Like I said, this represents the sun's location in three dimensions. The calendar itself is more like a fourth dimension map, if you consider time to be the fourth dimension. That is why it is cyclical, it is a diagram of an object.
There are many different calendars in Maya. Not all things are found on the internet, much knowledge is not on the internet and the elders have it. Try to find anything about taoist sorcery on the internet, just because it isn't there doesn't mean that the Taoists didn't practice sorcery. You would have to go to Mexico and find a keeper of the culture to tell you that the sun wobbles. Do you think that some Mexican Indian Shaman living in a hut with no electricity and no running water with no road to his village would know that the Sun wobbles because he keeps up to date on astronomy? I rather take them on their word when they say that it has been passed down from their ancestors. This is the one thing that they told me that can be verified by modern science. I won't tell you what else they told me because you would all laugh and I feel like I would be betraying a secret told to me in confidence. I cannot give historic evidence as the Indians don't just share this kind of stuff, especially after the Spanish wiped them out and tried to erase their culture. It was actually illegal to use the Mayan calendar or to speak Mayan for so long. The Indians don't care if we take them seriously. We live in a different age now anyway.
As for most astronomers not knowing that the sun wobbles, I admit I was mistaken. I was paraphrasing what I read a prominent astronomer said when he was predicting Earthquakes via the Sun's wobble. It would be interesting to see how the Sun will be wobbling on the winter solstice 2012. This interest me, and I am all for learning more. But I have so much on my plate right now, that this will have to be just a curious interest.
It doesn't make much difference anyway as they predicted the Spanish coming and wiping out their civilization but they don't say anything happens on 2012 except that we go to the fifth world which is just another cycle of the wheel.

It never was supposed to be an end, but a new beggining. Yes... Just like a normal calendar, but the difference here is that this calendar is far from just organazing and plan out the time it takes for the earth to travel one cycle all around the sun (A year) the way we do today.
This Mayan calendar mapped out SO much more, and well if you want to know exactly what that is, you have to research that yourself, since I would probably have to write a book here if i wanted to do that.

So this new beggining might not have a significant value of people that are primarily living in their left brain (steps and current logic), but to right brain (random and whole-perspecitve thinkers + left brain male + right brain female - energy.) This shift has a great importance. Either if you are spiritual or not, changes will begin to happen, but it's your choice if you want to understand it or just not care. :)
