Well each candidate that "rose and fell" rose and fell within 4-6 weeks. With two weeks to Iowa, another to New Hampshire, I think he will have a good enough lead to STAY fist/fist against Romney. The "racist newsletter" controversy is a non-story that is really the only thing they have against Ron Paul, along with the "earmark controversy" (which is saying something big: There is virtually nothing against him.)
I very much like when libertarian candidates become seriously well-known, although I'm disappointed that Gary Johnson is switching out to be the LP candidate this year; he should have just stuck it out and realized he was going to get ALL of Ron Paul's supporters in 2016, as well as any pro-marijuana, pro-gay marriage, "Upset with the same old politicians" disgruntled Democrats... But hey, if he wants to be the LP candidate, so be it.
We shall see how things turn out, but I'm feeling confident that Iowa will make the right choice.
If he actually were inaugurated, the headlines that day would read: "Is Ron Paul serious about becoming President?"
