      Morgellon's Disease? A Bioterrorism?

So this morning I was minding my own business and watching a gross video of how disgusting and gross chicken mc nuggets are. Not that I cared, I don't eat fast food anyways and everyone already knows mc donalds nuggets are disgusting.

Here's the video if you're interested and want to gross yourself out (but seriously, you should have already known)

Okay, no brainer, mc nuggets gross. But the guy mentions 'morgellon's fibre'. What the hell is that?

      I wiki it, wiki says
"Morgellons (also called Morgellons disease or Morgellons syndrome) is a name given to a condition in 2002 by Mary Leitao[1] where sufferers have the delusional belief that they are infested with parasites, whereas in reality no such parasites are present. . ." Okay, crazy people

But then it says "CDC researchers issued the results of their multi-year study in January 2012, indicating that there were no disease organisms present in Morgellons patients, the fibers found consisted mainly of cellulose, which the CDC concluded was from cotton fibers, "

Wait.... What fibers? It turns out there's a whole lot more to the story. I wanted to understand what people are experiencing when they suffer morgellon's disease. A forum lead me to those first hand experiences. A burning itching sensation, lesions, a crawling sensation under the skin, and weird fibrous strings growing out from the skin - and slothing off the skin after a shower. It sounded horrible. I didn't understand how thousands of people could just be delusional and making this all up.

Here is an ABC night line video about it

The suffering seems very real and very physical and not at all delusional to me. And more than real, it seems its highly contagious. The entire family is showing signs of Morgellon's disease, which is not consistent with delusional parasite-what-ever...

Here is another news clip, which basically came to the conclusion that its real

Okay I know, I just found out today and I'm freaking out. But seriously, WTF!! Does it really take the CDC years to figure out a wound is just irritated with cotton fibers? YEARS? It sounds more like it took them years to figure out how to con and lie....... Why is the independent research completely contradicting the CDC research? What does that mean? The lack of answers and the mal-treatment towards the patients has many saying - bioterrorism.

Come on, with monsanto in bed with the FDA, its not hard to imagine that the CDC is in bed with the disease...WHATS NEXT? (military in bed with the terrorist...lol..oh wait...)

I don't trust the CDC or the FDA as far as I can throw my 100 lb dog--in other words, not at ALL.

Uh, maybe it'll help to consider that literally millions of US citizens have diagnosable mental disorders.

You think that fewer than 0.3% of people have mental disorders? Seriously? Why?

That doesn't really have anything to do with the OP, does it? You're talking about the entire American populace, while the TS was referring to people with physical proof of their suffering.

There's no doubt that the disease exists, but the cause is somewhat unknown. Unless there is a study done on the direct link between Morgellons and certain types of food, there's probably no reason to panic and call out a conspiracy.

What? It is completely pertinent to the part of the OP that I quoted. It is not remotely hard to believe that "thousands of people" could have a paranoid delusion when this number is such a tiny proportion of the population, and even a tiny proportion of the number of people who have actually been diagnosed with paranoid mental illnesses. 1,000 is only an impressive number if you completely ignore the sample size you're talking about. It's of the order of one in a million people.
