American Foreign Policy Hasn't Changed in 50 years

Obama promised change, he advocated against war & promoted peace in his initial election. His campaign was so impressive that it won him the Nobel Peace prize as controversial as it may be.

Its no secret Obama reneged on plenty of his initial goals, but currently hes totally copying the same rhetoric put forth by Bush junior during his presidency. American foreign policy hasn't changed at all, its been the same for nearly 50 years but people refuse to acknowledged it.

I'll let the articles speak for themselves, I dug up several old links back when the Iraq war was the hot topic to compare media coverage to today's current coverage against Syria. The similarities are undeniable.

BBC NEWS | Middle East | Evidence against Iraq 'unmistakable'

BBC NEWS | Middle East | US 'troubled' by Iraq weapons finds

BBC NEWS | Americas | Bush promises evidence on Iraq

BBC NEWS | Middle East | US highlights new weapons find

Also heres a video to jump start your memory a bit: ★ Shock and Awe the initial bombing of baghdad ★ - YouTube

The CIA declassifies all documents after 50 years as per the freedom of information act. This document (http://www2.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB...%20history.pdf) details undercover operation in Iran to sack Prime Minister Mossadeq's government. The fact that the CIA and MI6 were involved in toppling a democratically elected leader is not a secret, this is fairly well known. The reason why I posted this document is so you can all see the terminology and methodology of how our intelligence operates in high profile cases.

I'm tired of hearing people asserting that American foreign policy has changed and is not operating the same way it did 50 years ago. The CIA actually has a disinformation department that specializes in causing disarray in a countries government. In Iran they actually paid Iranian citizens to protest against the government in mass to spark a movement against the establishment. I believe the same operation happened in Syria in order to cause chaos to later form an excuse for military intervention.

"The strategy was simple, clear, tried and tested. It had been used successfully not only against Libya, but also Kosovo (in 1999), and was rapidly underway in Syria. It was to run as follows: train proxies to launch armed provocations; label the state's response to these provocations as genocide; intimidate the UN Security Council into agreeing that "something must be done"; incinerate the army and any other resistance with fragmentation bombs and Hellfire missiles; and finally install a weak, compliant government to sign off new contracts and alliances drawn up in London, Paris and Washington, whilst the country tore itself apart. (Courtesy of Dan Glazebrook)"

But... that's because something similar has happened in Syria.

The dissimilarity has been in America's foreign policy. Last time they wanted a full scale invasion, and did so despite international protests. This time they wanted a few targeted strikes involving no troops, and even that has been put on the backburner because of the international dialogue. That's really very different. I think the worst you can say about Obama's conduct is that it has been a bit inept and confused. The worst you could say about Bush's conduct was that he was an aggressive, lying warmonger.

The similarity is a false flag operation conducted by the US to topple governments that oppose Western standards.

Obama is just as bad as Bush if not worse, right now the only nations I see pushing for war are the US & France. The UK totally pulled out which is a HUGE deal that for some reason gets overlooked.

What? Why does having troops on the ground matter, they are planning to attack a foreign nation with tomahawk missiles this would be an act of war. How did the US government react when the Japanese attacked pearl harbor, did they twiddle their thumbs and say, "well they didn't put boots on the ground... So its OK right?"

Obama is just as much of a warmonger as Bush, because as General Wesley said the problem is with American foreign policy which has been hijacked by a policy coup of key individuals.

When a disagreement is reached thats when discussion gets interesting. If you don't have the confidence to back up your disapproval then maybe it is best for you to leave this thread, as its likely you don't have the knowledge to participate and will just end up embarrassing yourself.

      Bye.
