Actually, it's debatable whether you feel pain from being blown up, if your brain actually survives the initial explosion.
In the times of the guillotine, several scientists did tests on the victims. One french scientist watched a beheading, then when the head fell, he shouted the man's name. The man apparantly opened his eyes. This repeated several times for about 30 seconds, when he did not respond any more.
Scientists have since then determined it is possible that the decapitee would remain conscious for a while after the beheading, and indeed feel large amounts of pain.
So if someone blows themselves up and their head is intact, they might not get away so easily.
