Thread: Where's Osama?

So, it's been 5 years.

In a world of infrared, motion sensors, silent drone aircraft and satellite technology with the ability to practically read liscense plates from space....why haven't we "found" him, yet?

Thoughts? Conspiracy theories? Accusations?

there are three possibilities. #1 and #3 are probable, #2 is not so probable.

1. He died of kidney failure. I heard he was on dialysis or something for his kidneys. If that is true, i hope he died a SLOW, PAINFUL death. I smell.........hominus with a BIG smile on his face.

2. We already have him. Bush is just using the hunt for Osama to perpetuate the war on terror. I bet you libs are gonna go CRAZY on that probability. I smell.......flaming.

3. He's still out there hiding like a little girl. That bugs me because he wanted to bring fear to America, and he is afraid himself. I smell......hipocracy.

Hes probably dead. I doubt they have him because if they did they would have already played that card to boost ratings. They don't need osama to to keep the war going anyway. They have iran and iraq for that now.

We probably are not even looking for him any more.

He is sitting somewhere in the states with no beart no more and having Bush fly the newest technology developments and oil into his place ...

The last I heard was that because of his cave dwelling experience he was last seen conducting tours in mammoth cave in Kentucky.

I find it weird that osama hasn't stand up yet as the 'great leader of the jihad against america.'

I don't know, when was his last tape released? I think he might be planning another attack, or he might just be chillin' somewhere in a place, he has the money to do so.

Osama needs to get jiggy with the times. Everyone uses YouTube to release their home videos now, not vinyl or whatever he's using.

I think he is probably in Pakistan, hidden by fanatics who hate the U.S. and love Bin Laden. The leader of Pakistan is too scared for his own life and the fragile alliance he has with the U.S. right now. Allowing the U.S. to go into Pakistan to find Bin Laden would make all Hell break loose in Pakistan, and that goes against Pakistani national interests.

The Bush Administration does have an interest in not finding Bin Laden right now. That does not automatically mean that he can but won't, but it does strengthen the possibility. It is like a novelist who doesn't want the anticipated best possible moment to happen until the end. So perhaps Mimi will reveal the fact that Sean is Claire's father on Days of Our Lives long before Bush ever reveals that he has Bin Laden. Bin Laden's apparent survival does add morale to the war on terror. If Bin Laden was killed in a bombing, which very well could be the case, the Bush Administration might want to keep that a secret. Bin Laden's death would make him a martyr. That is why I think that if we ever do find him, we should give him life in prison, but make him wear pink panties and thigh high stockings and make him act like a slutty woman on video, an Islamofascist's worst nightmare and something that would destroy the respect he has among the evil.

But maybe Bin Laden and Bush remained friends all this time and have been in on all of this together so they can steal sand from Iraq and Afghanistan and use it for beach resorts in Republican controlled Mississippi and Florida. They could be in on a towel stealing scheme for the same purpose. Every dead terrorist = a drawer full of towels.

Yeah, what Universal Mind said.

For the Bush administration, the benefits of having Osama alive simply outweigh the potential risks. An alive Osama lends extra emphasis to the "threat" of terrorism. It also allows the bush administration to point to a familiar and much-hated face to justify the War on Iraq, the upcoming War on Iran, and any other future wars of opportunity in the Middle East.

All that said, however, if Osama were to die of natural causes before US forces kill or capture him, (which, given his health, seems likely) that would be a big negative publicity hit for the US.

The situation at the moment, as I predict it: the US knows exactly, or near enough, where Osama is, and they are monitoring him and his activities. There's much more to be gained in keeping him alive and watching him: he can be used as a justification for America's wars, and by keeping him alive and covertly monitoring his activities, some measure of advanced warning will be had of future terrorist activities directly linked to Osama.

Let me put it this way.

If Osama Bin Laden dies of kidney dialysis, typhoid, or any other more "natural" cause of death, then America has failed. The greatest nation in the world scours the globe for terrorists, and Osama just dies. What have we accomplished, then?

He no longer exists to cause more unnecessary tragedy. He also doesn't go out in a blaze of glory, and he gets no morale inducing attention from a trial. If he dies of kidney trouble and suffers greatly, then he has died the best possible way. I hope he feels pain far worse than the pain he pointlessly caused so many innocent people. I hope he feels more than all of it combined for as long as possible. May he rot in agonizing horror.
