States with RTC (right to carry) laws have lower violent crime rates. On average, 22% lower total violent crime, 30% lower murder, 46% lower robbery, and 12% lower aggravated assault, compared to the rest of the country. The seven states with the lowest violent crime rates are RTC states. (F.B.I.)
What was that about guns being evil things that are the cause of all crime?
If someone is trying to steal my car, I'm gonna take him down some way or another. I'm not letting my '84 Corvette fall into a criminals hands.
Everyone seems to miss the fact that you can defend yourself without killing or painfully wounding someone. (edit: like Wolffe said.)[/b]
And what if that someone wants to kill you? What if he has a gun? What if he wants to kill your kids, your wife? What are you gonna do, throw spaghetti?
Oh, and sorry, but Europe is kinda going to the dogs. Look at France. Socialism in disguise (or hiding in plain sight). No offense to any Francians.
You anti-gun people are projecting your emotions, ie, you wouldn't want to kill a criminal who is threatening your life. Some of us want to live. You are projecting your opinions on other people that you don't need guns. You haven't experienced many threatening situations, have you?
Also, most people around here own at least a few thousand rounds of ammo for each caliber gun they have. We could hold out for a while. And about governments having superior weaponry and numbers and all? Look at the Spartans (outnumbered, outgunned), and Viet Cong. There's tons of other examples.
Oh, and this:
If I'm not mistaking, the government actually bought those guns. So of course it would drop statistics, many of the guns weren't able to be sold on the black market or stolen. We over here have a lot of people, and with lots of people, comes lots of different problems and stuff like that. People will commit suicide and kill others no matter what, guns are just a tool whether you are a murderer or a police officer.
I myself would not trust completely in officers anyways, as they have no actual duty to protect you. If you cannot protect yourself, are you going to hire an armed bodyguard? Or is the governments going to assign a police officer to every law-abiding citizen?
Quick quote:
"I have said this before and I will say it again: The only people safe in these so-called "gun-free zones," whether they are schools or businesses or churches, are armed criminals. Criminals, by definition, do not care about laws. Only the law-abiding care about them. So, making more laws or rules and regulations that ban firearms in places only encourages violent criminals to do what they do – kill, rob, rape, maim." ~~ Joseph Farah
And another:
"1935 will go down in History! For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient and the world will follow our lead to the future!" ~~ Adolf Hitler
