To the mods, what's with the same big brother eye watching over you avatar? (In case you haven't noticed... it's lame and confusing...)

In any event, the adverts don't bother me at all if it means DV stays up with no worry. Mystic, would you be willing to foot the bill in-lieu of the owner putting up the pretty modest advertisements on the main page? You have to realize everyone is human and everyone wants to AT LEAST break even, not everyone is part of the 'system' as you would label them.

Putting on your skepticals is fine and dandy when you need them. Once it takes you over the edge and you start seeing blurry again that's where I start to disagree. You might want to see your doctor about toning down the prescription of your skepticals. I think they might be a little too strong.

the ads have been that size for a while...but I dont see the problem with it. I never pay attention to advertisements and as long as the information on the site is not changed for advertisers I dont see any harm.

I don't see any ads on either the main page or on the forum front page.

The main page has a few ads, but i ignore them. They arent that big of a deal, and the dont force your mouse to click them. As long as we dont get pop up ads im fine. Or those stupid ones that follow your screen so you have to pay attention. Ugh.

Agreed. Viva la will have to return if we get pop-ups.

It's better we have ads then have to donate/pay to be a part of this site.

I've been to a lot of forums in which the admins keep telling the members that they should donate, kinda forcing them in fact, removing common privileges such as private messaging and the search feature and only giving them to members who donate is also common.

There are other forums in which they have bots which POST in the threads, regardless of what they are about, not to mention that they are usually flooded with ads, popups and you are sometimes forced to click on them.

You shouldn't be crying for some Google ads, they're just text, not really annoying if you ask me, besides, they help with the hosting costs.

About the ad's and people wasting their money. I trust you guys to continue giving out good advice for free to anyone that wanders in here asking questions.
