To all those people who think we are insane.

I'm sorry but I have a confusion of area for this topic. This seems most logical to me.

Yesterday I was woke up by a constantly honking car horn. I thought it was my dad and I went to the door. It was a red suv with the sign "Urban Carrier" on it. No not my dad. I swear i saw 4 people with books. i thought it was rude jehovah witnesses and went to bed. I heard the cellar door open and went to sleep. I told my brother about it and he thought it was crazy and I found out that it was the postman delivering a package. I thought that made sense. Later, my brother was absurdly drunk and came over to the computer when I was e-mailing a site about an odd creature I saw once. He made smart remarks and told me to hurry up. He wanted me to finish his beer off. Anyway he got me drunk and everything I talked about before I tried to heavily defend. Because I was drunk.
I recently started posting more than usual on here and my mother and bro watched me. Creepy. Today they acted like they were giving me an intervention.
She came up and took into the kitchen and told me she wanted to talk.
Well turns out she thought I was insane. She commented on what I saw the day before. I tried to tell her I was half-asleep and really couldn't tell what I was seeing. She wouldn't believe me. Then she commented on what I was e-mailing that side. I tried to tell her I'm not even sure if that's what I saw. She was fickle. She went through everything I'm interested in reading about. I told her that i don't do magic, or curses or summoning the devil. She wouldn't believe me. She then blamed this site for what I see and believe and said I was going to be like that Illinois shooter. Then I asked what she thinks this site was about. She said "Awakening Dreams". Which made no sense. Thinking there was no way to reason with her pompous idiot views on what I interest, I questioned her on her constant christian reading affecting her mental thoughts on what she thought was going on in the world and then I told her what she thought bros drinking. Then I defended him. She stuttered on the christian one and was more than pleased to talk about my bro. It ended there, except I was furious afterwards. That ended easily when I tore up the punching bag and played a violent videogame though.
Through the whole thing, my brother commented like an ass. My mom was saying I need mental help in between those things I posted. Even medication. They both apologized to me 3 hours later and don't know why. I do, they are beepin-crazy.

Basically we are not crazy because of the things we read in the occult or talk about dreams. Even what we think we see and misinterpret. It's the people with the one-way minds that are.

Well, narrow-minded people need to be treated strictly. Otherwise you're opening yourself up for their hasty deductions and whatnot. Not with hostility, just strictly.

You're saying your relatives wouldn't "believe" you? Well, why did you leave room for belief? In a situation with those that deny lucid dreaming and whatnot, it's best to show that you know, that you have knowledge on the subject at hand...more than them, and are thus speaking from a knowledgable point of view. But that does not mean explaining the concept straight out. That comes across as desparate.

If someone were to seriously argue with you that the world is flat, you wouldn't start explaining anything to them, would you? No, you'd cast their arguments aside with a laugh and go on your usual business amongst the globe that is our planet. Same for lucid dreaming and those not open-minded enough to trust your knowledge...don't let it get to you and don't make yourself look like you're trying to prove something.

Seriously its a no go when your mother is trying to put you in a mental institute for reasons beyond logical.

In my house whenever someone does what you said, it is considered being a jerk and hatred fumes. I'm not really affected when someone does it to me though. I usually agree and then contribute to what they say; if they are correct that is. But living in my house is like living with a bunch of children with jobs. Although I agree with you, some people don't listen.

Oh and yes I apologize for saying one-way minded people are crazy. What I should of said the conflict of beliefs can cause major problems in this world.

Well, in essence, it goes into not caring what others think of you.

If you know you're right, it doesn't matter if others think of you as a jerk or some such. They'll come to realise their error eventually, especially if it's someone close. So patience is important.

Sane? You think you are sane? Heh, sorry, but as soon as you start doing things such as paying attention to your dreams and undertaking lucid dream, most of the world will see you as insane... so you might as well learn to enjoy it!

[/joke] Some people will never really understand these things and will often resort to holding on to whatever they do understand. In these circumstances, you just have to be more stubborn than them, whilst trying to explain things in terms they can understand (if that is possible). Just don't try to seem like you are trying to preach to them, and if they still won't understand... well, shrug it off and move on really... in these situations, you might as well just get used to them
