I am saying that "his current incredible oratory level-headedness" is about all he really has, and he even lacks that to an extent greater than what is being acknowledged. He is about to start really getting put to the test on where he stands on issues. You will see his shortcomings in that process.

He has had more than one foul up. He has been exposed for going to an extremist anti-American church for twenty years, being very close to another anti-American extremist clergyman, being good friends and speaking partners with an admitted terrorist who bombed several government locations and said on 9/11/01 he wished he had killed more people. Obama contradicted himself all over the place in explaining his history with Reverend Wright. He flat out lied about what he knew about Reverend Wright. He dissed small town gun owners. He said we should invade Pakistan, which was a major blunder that showed his lack of understanding of Middle East policy. That is definitely more than one foul up. I predict more to come.

Like I said, I don't want to argue about this. I clarified my point. Now just watch.

Err, I said one foul up "in what he says" (like you said in part). In regards to other "Foul ups" you just listed, those aren't really foul ups as much as the tendency for the media and the American people to blow things way out of proportion

I still shudder to think of the poor acting and scary forced smile he put on top of that weird voice...he's definitely better speaking off the cuff.

Wow, you just jumped to a whole bunch of conclusions. Do you get your information on people from the Psychic service advertised on the main forum page? Go to the Religion forum and see for yourself just how right wing I am, or read in this forum about what I think of the illegality of drugs, prostitution, and gay marriage, or the proposed flag burning amendment. Read my opinions in the pornography thread. You can then know just how closed-minded and conclusion leaping you are.

Say something logical to counter my points, and you will change my mind. Surprise me.

You are describing his church as "extremist, anti-American." That description is hyperbole.

To be honest, UM; for the most part you are liberal. This is why I attribute your neo-conservative outlook on foreign policy to ignorance. You don't seem to know exactly what it is you don't know about what goes on in the rest of the world; that is to say, you assume you do know what goes on, and those assumptions are based largely in information you seem to get from the conservative news media.

You are liberal about things that effect you directly but are fairly conservative when the policies and ideas don't actually effect your own life to any great degree.

I will not claim to know better than you do, but I will claim to have a more open mind to what else could be true other than what our government, military, and the the channels that they choose to communicate with you through have to say.

Perhaps the distinction comes in what could be described as a benign naivete that you seem to have about the people in power over you, although maybe you'd prefer to call it my cynism.
