      McCain/Palin `08

Anyway, McCain picked a women. I guess his big plan is to get the Hillary support, however I don't see that happening.

However, I guess it will show if women voted for Hillary because she is a women or that they actually believed Hillary message like the pro choice. Saying that a poll did show 1/3 of Hillary supporter consider to vote for McCain.

I guess its a big gamble, espically since Palin has little experience and this could undermine McCain argument that experience is important. Atleast it gives McCain the image of a maverick back, which the Dems were attacking.

All in all, a good choice for McCain. I'm pretty sure McCain would lose if he picked Romney or Huckabee.

I guess Obama needs Hillary too attack Palin or something along these lines. I think Hillary would, because you don't want to lose you're supporters to Palin, espically since she is likely to be president in the future.

P.S. Palin is actually a good speaker, which is a change from McCain and Bush, which are very poor speakers.

      Original Story:
      http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080829/...epstakes_palin

She has more experience catching fish than dealing with foreign policy or national affairs.
Granted, this doesn't mean she won't do a good job, but you do have to question it.

She brings a strong anti-abortion stance to the ticket and opposes gay marriage — constitutionally banned in Alaska before her time — but exercised a veto that essentially granted benefits to gay state employees and their partners.
Only to the state workers and their partners? Not to every gay couple in Alaska? Yeah, that's nice.

Democrats seized on the gaping experience gap and said McCain now has no business questioning the seasoning of their nominee. Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York said McCain was taking a "roll of the dice" and declared that Palin's "lack of experience makes the thought of her assuming the presidency troubling."
Still, she could be good. But, once again, you must question it.

Typically seen walking the Capitol halls in black or red power suits while reading text messages on Blackberry screens in each hand, Palin made a recent appearance in fashion magazine Vogue.

"At first they had me in a bunch of furs," she said of the photo shoot. "Yeah, I have furs on my wall, but I don't wear furs. I had to show them my bunny boots and my North Face clothing."
Nice, we have a woman that likes to be in fashion magazines. I figured someone so involved in politics wouldn't want to be in fashion magazines. I mean if I was her I'd be more concerned with my job rather than posing for Vogue in my bunny boots and North Face clothing. I wonder if Playboy can talk her into posing if she gets into office?

Palin's clean-hands reputation has come into question with an investigation recently launched by a legislative panel into whether she dismissed Alaska's public safety commissioner because he would not fire her former brother-in-law as a state trooper. Trooper Mike Wooten went through a messy divorce from Palin's sister.

The governor denied orchestrating the dozens of telephone calls made by her husband and members of her administration to Wooten's bosses. She says she welcomes the investigation: "Hold me accountable."
Everyone loves a scandal, it'd be something if it's true.

I sincerely doubt she's topless in that picture. If she were, that picture alone would be the end of her political career.

I have to agree if she were younger, she would be quite attractive, but still, I wouldn't want her as a VP .

No, of course not. No one wants her as VP. Not even McCain, he's only even met her once, they just added her to the ticket to get Hillary supporters to turn to the dark side.

You know what I want to see? A far right winger choose a far left winger as VP, or visa versa. That would be awesome.

Anyway, she's a hottie so she has my vote. I am fairly sure that was the purpose of choosing her.

The above illustrates a perfectly legitimate reason to vote for her.

Its not his real reason anyway. Half/Dreaming is bound to vote republican no matter what by his limited ability to think for himself. Mcain could choose a trained monkey as his running mate and HD would still think it was a good idea. This monkey just happens to have had shapely breasts at some point in her history.

      SOLDIER MAKE WHEEL!!! DUURRRRRRR!!!!

I actually am rooting for Obama in this election. Why? 2 reasons. 1: Chances are I will go to Afghanistan rather than Iraq if Obama is elected. Iraq sucks now. 2: Nobody could label America as a white, racist, hate mongering society anymore. Is he better for America as a whole? I don't really care.

      Whatcha think about that

It doesn't matter anyway. You're a hypocrite, because you're bound to vote hippy always, just as I am bound to vote Republican.

....Palin is an out right bigot and is not fit to be president. If mc cain gets elected and he dies or becomes incapcitated in office, which is highly probable considering his age. Than we will have this religious neocon running our country. At that point she will make bush seem like a breath of fresh air

I don't think women will vote for her. I don't think they like the idea of a woman being used as a political stunt.

Okay...that video actually makes Sarah Palin look good. I mean you have an ignorant hack drinking beer on stage insulting a woman in politics. So not credible. It would be different if the guy was a lawyer or doctor...or someone high up in politics but he's not...just a drunkard on stage. For the record, it was mildly entertaining

Doug Stanhope is far from a ignorant hack, he was actually a candidate for the Libertarian party this year.

He's really intelligent as well, but I know where you're coming from. He does take the low road in his jokes sometimes.

What makes a doctor or lawyer more credible to talk about politics than a comedian? I know a lot of comics and I know a few doctors and lawyers. I'd take political and life advice from a comedian long before the doctors and lawyers I know.

Ron Paul for instance, a Dr. and a congressman, he has a rather large following because of who he is and his education.

Yeah but doctors and lawyers lose perspective because they stand to lose the most by a change in the system. Them along with postal workers. Oh, and PhD isn't what whoever said 'doctor' was referring to. Getting a PhD in social studies isn't hard.

Ron Paul isn't your average doctor either. Doug Stanhope and Joe Rogan are two people who appear to be dumbasses though they are not.

BUt plenty of "intellegent" people make completely stupid political decisions, at least when it comes to voting. I know some people who are fairly smart when it comes to most things that voted for bush.

But I'd take political advice from Bill Hicks over any doctor I've ever met. Political Enlightenment
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

well, I must admit, I wasnt sure about this pick at first...but her speech tonight was very well done. I will be awaiting the hilarity of Obama's refutes...still leaning towards just writing Ron Paul on my ticket though, lol.

btw, I really liked the quote "some men use change to promote their careers and others use their careers to promote change." That's gonna be a pretty hard one for Obama to get around, especially since he barely made a different in the Senate.
