Another one of Dreamhope's threads...

The "hologram" at 1:29 was part of a promotional campaign for a movie in Japan several months ago. The image was created by shining lights on a plane of water being sprayed into the air. It was entirely 2-dimensional and could only be seen properly from a narrow range of angles either directly in front or directly behind it. It was a slight technical feat, but only because it used a moving medium and lots of computer power. But this is a good example of how the perpetrators of misinformation (be they the government or conspiracy theorists) will show images and video without properly citing their sources and allowing the viewer to come to irrational conclusions.

And if you really dig you can find much better exhibits than these. It's funny how the maker of your video didn't even know how advanced holography is. S/he showed probably the most horrid example of modern holography.

I've been hearing bluebeam at different corners of the interweb. haven't looked too much in too it, or taken it too seriously
