Things are not as they seem
The "hologram" at 1:29 was part of a promotional campaign for a movie in Japan several months ago. The image was created by shining lights on a plane of water being sprayed into the air. It was entirely 2-dimensional and could only be seen properly from a narrow range of angles either directly in front or directly behind it. It was a slight technical feat, but only because it used a moving medium and lots of computer power. But this is a good example of how the perpetrators of misinformation (be they the government or conspiracy theorists) will show images and video without properly citing their sources and allowing the viewer to come to irrational conclusions. |
