What would your Heaven or After Life be like?

What do you think that the after life will be like? Ive read a few of threads you posted. You should stop worrying about whats going to happen when you die. We don't have no control over it. I would also like to challenge you to think past the heaven hell concept and try to find the real truth for yourself, and not rely on other people to tell you how to think or what to think. Chances are when you die you wont find your loved ones, or your pet animals, or be in heaven. Thats just a pipe dream religion conjured up to make other people feel happy about people dieing, by telling them that when you die you will see them again. Thats just a way to make you feel better about death. But when you finally accept death as a inevitability, and stop worrying about whats going to happen and just accept what is. Your mind starts to become free from the restraints religion puts on our minds. I personally believe that when we die, our spirits / souls are recycled and remade into new life forms, if we so chose too. I believe Out of body experiences is a evolution technique of sorts to prepare us for death. Help us learn about it before we in fact get there. Edit: But don't get me wrong, i do believe there is a "God", but i believe who that is, is a higher more intelligent life form. I don't think he / she has anything to do with religion.

I'm not worried about death, if I know one thing in my heart for sure it is that I have nothing to worry about and that at least it will be quite an adventure. I just thought it would be interesting to know what others ideas of Heaven consisted of. I find it interesting how many people on here are finely tuned into their subcontinent and dreaming as if it were some sort of religion it's self but believe in nothing beyond that. I wonder if our dreams are a glimpse at something to come? So it is not out of fear that I ask but out of genuine curiosity.

Probably nothingness or if consciousness remains some sort of reincarnation maybe or some process like that but I really doubt anymore there's no reason that heaven/hell should exist when there are so many other possibilities I could come up with that could be just as or more plausible but I don't wanna get into an argument about that and I'm fine with that happening. Just my two cents.

Even though I believe in my understanding of spirituality I am not about pushing others into my mode of thinking. Any type of spirituality that you have is a personal relationship that none of us can judge or make fun of. I am not about having an argument here I am genuinely interested in what other people thinks happens after they pass out of their body. It doesn't have to be Heaven or Hell, that is just the Concept I have been raised with and is most easiest for me to explain/identify with. No arguing here, that would be insecure and childish this was not meant to challenge anyone's ideas or beliefs I am just plane curious.

I dont know - but I think finding out will be a great adventure. I dont beleive in heaven and hell. These are very Xtian constructs. Hell didnt really start appearing in the scriptures until 300VE (era vulgaris). The romans saw the volcanoes and other geological features throughout Italy and decided that was where "the dammed" must go. The Jewish faith has something called Ghenna (not sure of the spelling) - where you go for a hundred years of "correction" if you are really bad. But there's none of this "damned for all eternity with scary demons jabbing pitch forks in your butt while you roast on a fire" - which is all very hysterical type early Medieval/European thinking if you think it through a little. The main reason I dont buy either the heaven and hell construct is based on logic. I can never get past this idea that if a 3 month old baby dies then does it go to heaven and sit on a cloud with a little harp and spend all of eternity filling its divine little diaper and dribbling alot? Whats the point of that? How about someone in Europe that that has lived through the last 90 years of terrible war and violence and might have had to face starvation or a fight for their lifes? How do they get judged against the horror of the times they lived in? How about someone who is born with some terrible defect - with a mind of a four year old and spends their life in a wheel chair - whats the point? None of this makes any kind of sense in the "one life then heaven/hell" model. We are either like the aetheists say - an incredibly complex chemical reation that somewhere along the way (to be figured out later) developed inteligence and a conciousness as a quirk of evolution - and life is just a sequence of random shit that happens and then its "lights out" and we are just worm food when we die. OR we go on somehow - in which case I prefer the reincarnation model. MAny belief systems around the world at many times have embraced this idea. The concept that one life is not enough to learn every lesson is much more logical. The Hindu's beleive in Karma. That for example if you kill someone in this life then there needs to be a "balancing" at some point. Its not as simple as you will be killed in the next life - it could be that you have to experience the pain of someone you love being taken from you perhaps as a family member, lover, child, etc so you experience the lessons of taking life from all angles and attitudes. This would also "explain" disability/sickness etc - that everyone gets a turn in the wheelchair, and a turn caring for someone in a wheelchair, etc - again so you see these experiences/lessons from all sides. The Hindu's also beleive that sometimes "old souls" who have learned every lesson and are just about perfect/complete come back to "school" us younger souls. They have a special word for this that begins with "B" - Im at work and dont have my books with - but basically they think Jesus/Moses/Buddha/Etc were examples of these "old souls" spening their last earthly incarnation to school us. The gnostics beleived that a small peice of god is in all of us. Again the concept that deity is not a seperate enity but is within. They beleived that this little peice of god is tarnished by earthly living and needs to be "polished" up - and this is again the work of many lives. The Pagans of western europe beleived in the "summer lands" - where you walk and rest between lives. The Scandanavians had Valhalla. I like to think that AP/OOBE's are evidence that we go on. But im not sure yet. I like to beleive in reincarnation as it makes the most sense. But I dont have FAITH in the xtian sense that it does. I think half the fun of life is finding out - and thats the work of a lifetime - and experiences like LDs/AP as well as phenomenen such as past life experiences, ghosts, etc are a possible way to reach a personal level of comfort one way or the other. I hope the aetheists are wrong - their kind of end sounds a little sad, lonely and pointless. Science doesnt have all the answers yet - no where near - and the more they look the more inexplicable and odder everything actually is. So in answer - im a hopeful reincarnationist.

Reincarnation probably makes the most sense, i mean we were made once, why are we limited to just 1? we wont be us, we are just recycled, like the universe and how things in it recycles (like stars). It could be trillions of years before you are recycled and it will feel like literally 1 second passed by because of the nothingness. Also, you can be part of other worlds creatures, not just Earth.

Hell was a product of Christianity, Judaism knew nothing of the sort. It seems like a good way to force people to submit to someones ideas of morally correct. Re-incarnation perhaps.

What do I hope my afterlife is? It would look exactly like this old beach me and my family regularly visit. It would be nighttime more often than daytime. My family would be there during the day, but at night, I would run out into the sea, and fly off towards the sky and stars. I'd live out the lives of all the cool guys from videogames or books I've enjoyed in the past. It would be wonderful.
