      Ugh.... Racism

I was really thinking of making a really long and detailed post about this and my complaint about it... However, I feel my point can be explicitly stated with this:

I am a white, straight, male. I am subject to so many criticisms.

I am tired of being thought of as being racist just because I am white.

I am tired of being thought of as a "stupid typical male".

I am tired of being thought of as a smart-ass know-it-all.

Why am I constantly having to explain why and how I am not racist/fascist/sexist?

Is it not possible to be racist by thinking that I am racist?

Seriously, I am getting really fucking sick of this for the same exact reasons why any other person hates racism.

Keep this in mind when you judge someone. Maybe your reasons for thinking someone is judgmental is, in fact, judgmental. Maybe you would not think you were so special unless someone was racist towards you?

      What do you think...?

      Yeah.

I know what you mean. Especially the part about being criticized for being male, especially since I was someone who gave guys a hard time in the past if I perceived anything they said to be even remotely sexist in any way.

I don't really know what to do about it though. I guess you can keep in mind that even though you receive your fair share of ridiculous criticisms, it's still not anywhere near the amount that someone who isn't white, isn't male receives.

I don't disagree about the truth of this. It's simply something I do not think is often, if at all, recognized.

Racism is pointless. The only way to win the game is to stop playing.

Stop explaining things. You don't need to justify yourself to people.

Don't let the 'racism/sexism/facism' paranoia catch you.

And judging others is fine. Just get good at it.

i have a strong opinion about racism, infact its not so much that, its more political corectness. i heard that you now have to call a blackboard a chalkboard, now im sorry but its called that because its a board which happens to be the colour black, and whiteboards dont need to be called penboards or something.

another thing is, shortened names for certain races, i dont think i should repeat them so as not to offend anyone, but i see nothing wrong with it. im talkiing about pakastani people and chinese people etc. im sure you know the shortened versions. the reason i hate why people see it as a bad thing is that its just a shortened way of saying a person from pakistani etc. and if someone called me a scot, which is the shortened way of saying, someone from scotland, i dont bloody well care, and its the same with poles (from poland) aussies (from australia) and the list goes on. so why the heck should it matter for other contries? its just crazy.

there are other things which annoy me because people seem to think things are racist when they just arent.

on the other hand, obviously, very bad things have happened because of serious racism, and i fucking hate the racist basterds, but luckily, that has mostly been cleared up.

just to let everyone know, i am definetally not a racist, and i dont understand why people think other races arent human, i think its sick.

now, when you bring things over to religeon, it just gets plain stupid, if there were no such things as religeon, most of the wars which have happened, wouldnt have happened. WWII for example, this was a terrible terrible war, which started because of religeon, because hitler was a racist idiot, and it carried on for a long time because the religeous people sticked with their religeon.

Mm? I'm not sure what you mean. I must have written my post poorly.

Go on. Complain about it being political correctness gone mad.

It's nonsense. It's like people complaining about Christmas no longer being called Christmas. Or about school-children being made to wear safety goggles to play conkers.

They're usually very isolated incidents that are reported and then exaggerated upon as though they represent a mass trend sweeping the country.

No-one is enforcing this rule. It will have happened in some comprehensive in Birmingham where there is a slightly cautious headteacher who worries about coming across as racist. It's silly, but not representative of anything more than an extreme.

I agree with this. Furthermore, I think people are so quick to pull the "race" card instead of actually analyzing actual reasons why someone may have said what they said. What may be (by observable accounts) viewed as racism could actually just be sheer ignorance and stupidity.

It's prejudice, the masses of people are full of it. Not just racial prejudice, but loads of different kinds of prejudice. Sexual, social, economical. People are very keen to place their judgementlabels on everyone and everythig really fast.

I am often approached with incredible prejudice. For having dreadlocks, for carrying a guitar on my back, for being Jewish and wearing a david-star pendant, for being white, for being somewhat of a spiritual person, for being job & work-less and for being a musician&visual artist. And alot more.

I certainly know the tention you mentioned when black people have racial predjudice towards white people, because of what his/her ancestors did. I don't feel responsible or connected for what my ancestors did. Black people that think you ARE connected to the racist slavery, murder and opression of your ancestors are clearly racist, because they connect and associate you to those mass crimes just because you are white: It's like counter Racism. Pretty ignorant.

It's more a state of mind thing, I was referring to.

I know that there are certain things you can't do.

I think what you mean is there are certain things you are pretty powerless against; war, famine, prejudice, ignorance..etc, but instead of complaining about how wrong these things are, you could instead do it Right yourself and make your life an example of what's right for others. By not making those same mistakes.

      Because you talk too much.

"Actions speak louder than words" isn't just a common saying. It's an axiom of society as a whole. Words mean absolutely nothing (and I say this as a creative writer whose primary skills and hobbies lie in creativity with speech and writing). Actions mean everything.

No one owes you justice. You must make your own.
Don't bicker about being considered something you aren't.
Go and become what you want to be through your actions.

      Don't demand respect. Earn it.
Don't complain about those who disrespect you. Prove them wrong.
Don't care about others' flawed appraisal of yourself. Care for those close to you.

There is no innate justice in life. Life is not fair. Instead of being disgusted by it, fight it.

I guess I don't understand why you would be classified as racist?

Maybe I've just spent a lot of time with all races...

Could you explain some situation where you were being classified as a racist? What were the reasons, if any? The situation in detail perhaps?

Or do you just find yourself around other white males that happen to be racist and they assume you are racist yourself? Because who wouldn't be.... (I've met some people like that, kind of sickening...)

This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.

What of simple recognition? Is such really truly judgemental?

By the same token, what of suppressed self-recognition, perhaps projected unconsciously upon others undeserving?

      Many possibilities..

Why do people get uncomfortable around others doing someithing they percieve is wrong, to the extent where they begin defending themselves as if they were accomplices?
