I just gotta get something off my chest, inspired by some comment or other in this thread.

I don't get why people think aliens would want to destroy our earth OR preserve it based on the existance of humans.

I think the most logical thing to assume about any possible group of aliens is that they would be curious about our planet (for scientific reasons, at least) based on the fact that there is life there.

I'm saying I think they'd react in a similar way that we would react, if we ever found another planet with life, or a planet with life that was about to be hit by a meteorite.

We humans have ideas of ourselves, our value, whether or not we're worth being saved from a meteorite. But the probability of some aliens knowing enough about one specific animal on earth to make some kind of judgement like that is quite low, IMO.

I just think sometimes people read too many sci-fi novels and forget to look at things objectively.

Not if earth is a project that has existed for thousands of years created for some experiments. But was about to be destroyed. The most logical experiment being that humans have a natural environment that grows by itself. Probably if they were protecting it wasn't humans they were protecting it was earth.

But the evidence is not conclusive enough so i cant really say more.

I don't see why aliens saving us because they have a conscience is out of the question.

You mean humans? Our civilization is visible from space, you know.
